Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

In AC high-voltage transmissions, it is often necessary to arrange voltage converters or similar inductive connections on all phases so that the measurement results are not falsified as a result of unavoidable asymmetries in the voltage distribution. If the windings of the instrument transformers are connected to earth with their star points, there is a risk that their inductances, together with the natural capacitance of the lines to earth, will cause resonance phenomena and that the resulting voltage shifts will assume impermissible values.

   According to the invention, this risk is eliminated in that the measuring transducers are equipped with auxiliary secondary windings which are connected in series with a damping resistor. An exemplary embodiment is shown in the drawing. Primary windings 4, 5, 6 of a voltage converter are connected to the three phases 1, 2, 3 of a three-phase network and their star point 7 is connected to earth in the usual way. The secondary windings 8, 9, 10 lead to the measuring device 11. In addition to these secondary windings, auxiliary secondary windings 12, 13 are now provided according to the invention, which are connected in series and whose circuit is closed via an ohmic resistance.

   The ohmic resistance is dimensioned in such a way that the damping current flowing through it causes the lowest possible losses. Due to its damping effect, it keeps the shift of the zero point potential within safe limits, without the resulting damping current impairing the measurement accuracy or overloading the transducers. Compared to known arrangements which serve to combat resonance phenomena, the invention has the advantage that it does not require any new setting if the network capacities change due to being switched on or off. The device is not only of value for instrument transformers, but wherever inductances are placed between the individual phases and earth for any purpose.

   . PATENT CLAIMS: l. Protective device for alternating current networks in which measuring transformers or similar inductive conductance values are between the phases and earth characterized in that the transducers are equipped with auxiliary secondary windings (12, 13, 14) which are in series with a damping resistor (15).
