Rollenlager.

Roller bearings.
The invention relates to a roller bearing with conical end pressure surfaces on the rollers, which lie against conical counterpressure surfaces on the races and consists in the appropriate dimensioning of the angle between these two conical surfaces, which plays an extremely important role for the operation of the bearing, and through it correct choice an improvement in the operation of the roller bearing is achieved. If one imagines (Fig. 1) strong forces K acting in the axial direction of the rollers, the roller will yield thanks to its elasticity and the larger the point a, the longer the line in which the roller and counter-pressure surface is in contact, the larger it becomes is the force K provided that the angle W is very small.
If the angle TJ 'is too large, with strong forces K the roll at point a must split off, because point a alone has to absorb the large forces. If, on the other hand, the angle W is too small, the number of points of contact with a line increases the faster the force increases and the contact between the roller and the counterpressure surface occurs on a line even with a low axial load, which results in greater friction and lasting Loss of work causes.
There is therefore an optimum for the value wine, which will appear as a singular point in the curve representing the value IV. The invention consists in the fact that the angle is so small (less than 20) that, thanks to the elasticity of the material, it becomes equal to zero under strong axial pressure and goes back to its original size with decreasing pressure. In other words, the invention consists in limiting the angle between the end surfaces of the rollers and the counter-pressure surfaces on the raceways in relation to the modulus of elasticity of the bearing material.
In the accompanying drawing, FIG. 1 shows a bearing according to the invention in longitudinal section, FIG. 2 shows the same longitudinal section through a filling point which is designed in the manner of the known filling points in ball bearings and FIG. 3 shows a view corresponding to FIG.
