Hanging sleeping tent, especially for traveling on trains, ships and airplanes.
The purpose of the invention is to transform the hanging sleeping tents used up to now into extremely practical travel articles that are easy to handle in the night. This is primarily achieved by the fact that the stretching of the tent enveloping his upper body caused by the traveler remains without any noticeable influence on a cone-shaped shape of the tent that can be regulated from the outset, which on the one hand results in an uncomfortable fixation of the head in the otherwise taut upper part Tent parts are avoided, on the other hand there is an even load on the circumference of the tent.
EMI1.1
The drawing shows several exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention. FIG. 1 shows the entire hanging tent in perspective, attached to the hook of a board luggage rack, FIG. 2 shows a detail.
Fig. 3 illustrates its attachment using an elastic hook, Fig. 4 the hanging tent partially, Fig. 5 completely folded.
As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, the hanging tent consists of a tent sheet 1, the lower edge of which has a double floor forming a pocket 2. 3 is sewn. The tent sheet leaves the front one
EMI1.2
The upper end of the tent sheet has a hollow bead 10 which is interrupted by gaps 7, 8, 9 that are free to the outside and through which a hanger 11 is pulled, by means of which the position of use of the hanging tent and also the width of the upper tent end can be regulated.
It is advantageous to use a cord 12 adjustable with a trailer ring M to hang up the tent.

inserted, branched off at the gap 7 and drawn back into the hemstitch through the central opening 15 and the hole 16 and so this laying of the cord is repeated at each gap until the end of the cord from the hole 19 of the disc J4 to the free the hemstitch hanging cord end is pulled and can be knotted with this. With this device an even distribution of the sitting or leaning load hanging in the tent is achieved over the entire circumference of the tent.
Near the edge of the tent, a wide armhole 20, 21 is provided at a suitable height, which is covered to the outside by flaps 22, 23, which are cut in the form of arm supports, leaving their front edges sewn to the tent. The hanging tent can also have pockets 24 on its inside for other equipment.
When using the hanging tent this is, as shown in Fig. 1, for example, on the usual

bowed his. Arms that have a comfortable support on the tabs 22, 23 and can, depending on your needs, assume a sitting or leaning position that is comfortably supported on all sides by the tension of the tent and its suspension. The tent can be closed in its upper part with locks 2'5.
In railroad cars that are equipped with so-called net luggage holders, the hanging tent can be attached to the luggage net frame, which is usually made of metal rod or metal tubes, with the help of a strong hanging ring. H through a string or a suitable strap. A particular advantage of the "punctiform" suspension or fastening is that the skidding movements that a vehicle experiences when driving through a curve, as well as the slinging movements of the ship in rough seas or an aircraft in strong winds, are significantly reduced.
In order to make the suspension of the tent flexible and to prevent the hanging cords from tearing as a result of jerky loading, at least one of the organs used for this can be made elastic according to the invention. FIG. 3 shows one of the numerous possibilities that fulfill this purpose.
For this purpose, a strong, suitably metallic, resilient hook 30 is added to the tent, which, as can be seen in FIG. 3, is clamped to the board of the luggage rack so that its flat rail 31 against the top, its S-shaped curved one in the actual hanging hook. 32 passing part, which acts as a strong spring, rests against the underside of the luggage rack. Without departing from the scope of the invention, the suspension cords or suspension ring 13 provided at the upper end of the tent can also be made elastic.
The hanging tent of the invention protects the traveler not only against drafts and carbon black when driving at night, but also (which is particularly important when sleeping) against the lamp.
If necessary, a cushion can be inserted into the double floor 3 of the tent.
If the hanging tent is to be folded up, the pocket formed by the double floor is turned over so that the part of the double floor held together by the stitching 5 is opposite its opening 2 as a closed edge. The part of the tent protruding from the pocket (FIG. 4) is now folded up and placed in the pocket, which can be closed by means of the flap 6.
In the collapsed state, the hanging tent is a comfortable, handy travel bag that makes a pleasant impression, offers enough space for storing travel items (travel cap, travel slippers, etc.) and can also be used as a head cushion if space is available Enable lying stretched out on the bench. During the day, the hanging tent can be folded into a bag and used as a comfortable seat cushion.
