   Bei der aluminothermischen Verschweissung von Schienen, Trägern u. dgl. werden die Schienen an der Stossstelle mit einer aus zwei Teilen bestehenden Form umgeben, deren Hohlraum mit Eisen und Schlacke   in hocherhitztem, dünnflüssigem   Zustand gefüllt wird. Damit die flüssige Masse weder durch die Fugen zwischen den Formteilen selbst, noch durch die Fugen zwischen   Schienenoberfläche   und Form entweichen kann, ist eine sichere Abdichtung dieser Fugen von grosser Bedeutung. 



   Die Abdichtung geschah bisher durch Aufschmieren eines geeigneten Stoffes, wie beispielsweise

   Die genannten Nachteile werden nach der Erfindung dadurch beseitigt, dass die Form mit Kanälen versehen wird, in welche die obengenannten Fugen   einmünden,   und dass in diese Kanäle vor der Schweissung ein plastisches Dichtungsmittel unter entsprechendem Druck eingespritzt wird. Hiebei füllen sich nicht nur die Kanäle, sondern auch die anstossenden Fugenteile mit dem Dichtungsmittel, so dass ein dichter Verschluss erzielt wird und die flüssige Masse nicht mehr auslaufen kann. Ferner wird das Dichtungsmittel durch die Wandungen der Kanäle festgehalten und kann d'iher durch den Druck
