Die Erfindung betrifft Schalltrichter für Sprechmasehinen. Das wesentliche Merkmal der Erfindung besteht darin, dass die Masse des aus Holz bestehenden Schalltrichters mit einer wässerigen Emulsion imprägniert ist, die ein Alkalisilikat (Wasserglas) nnd Verbindungen der Erdalkalimetalle (z. B. Kalk, Portlandzement und Gips) enthält.
Der Trichter wird dabei zweckmässig im Querschnitt nicht kreisrund, sondern oval (elliptisch) ausgestaltet.
Der gemäss der Erfindung ausgebildete Schalltrichter hat den Vorteil, dass er einen sehr guten vollen Ton ergibt, der edler und reiner klingt als der eines gewöhnlichen Holztrichters.
