to achieve a stereoscopic impression of the cinematographic images.

The methods proposed so far by various inventors have not produced any significant result. One feature of the present invention is that the images are recorded with two lenses in such a way that the optical axes of the lenses meet at a predetermined point in front of the recording apparatus. All attempts with regard to the effectiveness of the proposed devices started from the point of view that the simplest possible handling and reproduction of the film is the most essential. It is accordingly the most important moment in the present invention that the successive images of the film are recorded alternately with a shift of the point of view that corresponds to the eye distance, the images alternately corresponding to the view of the right and left eye.

These images are alternately colored with complementary colors; H. one green, the other red. Each viewer is provided with a lorgnon, one glass of which is green and the other glass is colored red. When the film is running quickly, the viewer's retina perceives these colors superimposed on the successive images by the lorgnons just described, viewed a chromatically filtered impression and the greatest possible stfreoscopic effect
