Abstract

La presente descripción se refiere a métodos para cultivar una planta de fresa modificada genéticamente (p. ej., una planta en cepellón) que tiene actividad reducida de un gen de FLOR TERMINAL (TFL) endógeno. Las plantas de fresa modificadas genéticamente son del género Fragaria. Las plantas de fresa modificadas genéticamente con actividad de TFL1 reducida se cultivan en un vivero ubicado en cualquiera de una elevación baja, una elevación alta, una latitud septentrional, una latitud meridional o una instalación de ambiente controlado. El rendimiento de la fruta de fresa de las plantas de fresa modificadas genéticamente con actividad de TFL1 reducida es mayor que el de las plantas en cepellón cultivadas de forma convencional. Las plantas de la presente descripción están transformadas con el vector pSIM2441.
