Abstract

Reivindicación 1: Una secuencia de ácido nucleico, caracterizada porque comprende al menos 11 nucleótidos consecutivos de SEQ ID Nº 3 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma, y/o al menos 11 nucleótidos consecutivos de SEQ ID Nº 4 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma. Reivindicación 5: Un método para detectar la presencia del ADN del evento de maíz transgénico DBN9978 en una muestra, que comprende: poner en contacto la muestra con al menos dos cebadores en una reacción de amplificación de ácido nucleico; realizar la reacción de amplificación de ácido nucleico; y detectar la presencia de un amplicón, en el que la presencia del amplicón indica la presencia del ADN del evento de maíz transgénico DBN9978 en la muestra; en el que el amplicón comprende al menos 11 nucleótidos consecutivos de la SEQ ID Nº 3 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma, o al menos 11 nucleótidos consecutivos de la SEQ ID Nº 4 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma; y preferiblemente, el amplicón comprende los nucleótidos consecutivos 1 - 11 ó 12 - 22 de la SEQ ID Nº 1 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma, o los nucleótidos consecutivos 1 - 11 ó 12 - 22 de la SEQ ID Nº 2 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma; preferiblemente, el amplicón comprende la SEQ ID Nº 1 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma, SEQ ID Nº 2 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma, SEQ ID Nº 6 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma, o SEQ ID Nº 7 o una secuencia complementaria de la misma. Reivindicación 11: Una célula o parte de planta, caracterizada porque comprende una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica la proteína Cry1Ab resistente a los insectos, una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica la proteína EPSPS tolerante a herbicidas de glifosato y una secuencia de ácido nucleico de una región específica, en el que la secuencia de ácido nucleico de una región específica comprende la SEQ ID Nº 1, SEQ ID Nº 2, SEQ ID Nº 6 o SEQ ID Nº 7; preferiblemente, la célula o parte de la planta de maíz comprende una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica la proteína Cry1Ab resistente a los insectos, una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica la proteína EPSPS de tolerancia a herbicidas de glifosato y una secuencia de ácido nucleico de una región específica, en el que la secuencia de ácido nucleico de una región específica comprende la SEQ ID Nº 3 o SEQ ID Nº 4; preferiblemente, la célula o parte de la planta de maíz comprende la secuencia de ácido nucleico tal como se establece en la SEQ ID Nº 5. Reivindicación 12: Un método para proteger una planta de maíz de la invasión de insectos, caracterizado porque comprende proporcionar al menos una célula o parte de la planta de maíz transgénico de la reivindicación 11 en la dieta del insecto diana, y la ingestión de la célula o parte de la planta de maíz transgénico inhibe al insecto diana de alimentarse aún más de la planta de maíz. Reivindicación 15: Un método para cultivar una planta de maíz tolerante a herbicidas de glifosato, caracterizado porque comprende: plantar al menos una semilla de maíz, en el que la semilla de maíz comprende en su genoma una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica la proteína EPSPS tolerante a los herbicidas de glifosato y una secuencia de ácido nucleico de una región específica; crecer la semilla de maíz en una planta de maíz; y pulverizar la planta de maíz con una cantidad eficaz de herbicida de glifosato, y a continuación recoger la planta con una reducción de daños en la planta, en comparación con otras plantas que no comprenden la secuencia de ácido nucleico de la región específica; en el que la secuencia de ácido nucleico de la región específica se selecciona entre al menos una secuencia de ácido nucleico que consiste en la SEQ ID Nº 1, SEQ ID Nº 2, SEQ ID Nº 3, SEQ ID Nº 4, SEQ ID Nº 6 y SEQ ID Nº 7; preferiblemente, el método comprende: plantar al menos una semilla de maíz, en el que la semilla de maíz comprende en su genoma la secuencia de ácido nucleico tal como se establece en la SEQ ID Nº 5; crecer la semilla de maíz en una planta de maíz; y pulverizar la planta de maíz con una cantidad eficaz de herbicida de glifosato, y a continuación recoger la planta con una reducción de daños en la planta, en comparación con otras plantas que no comprenden la SEQ ID Nº 5. Reivindicación 19: Un método para producir una planta de maíz resistente a los insectos y tolerante a herbicidas de glifosato, caracterizado porque comprende cruzar sexualmente una primera planta de maíz parental tolerante a herbicidas de glifosato y resistente a los insectos del evento de maíz transgénicoDBN9978, con una segunda planta de maíz parental que carece de la característica de tolerancia a glifosato y/o resistencia a los insectos, produciendo de ese modo una pluralidad de plantas de la progenie; tratar las plantas de la progenie con herbicida de glifosato; y seleccionar las plantas de la progenie tolerantes a glifosato, que también son resistentes al daño por alimentación de un insecto; en el que el evento de maíz transgénico DBN9978 comprende en su genoma al menos una secuencia de ácido nucleico seleccionada del grupo que consiste en la SEQ ID Nº 1, SEQ ID Nº 2, SEQ ID Nº 3, SEQ ID Nº 4, SEQ ID Nº 5, SEQ ID Nº 6 y SEQ ID Nº 7. Reivindicación 21: Un producto o materia prima agrícola que comprende los polinucleótidos tal come se establecen en la SEQ ID Nº 1 o SEQ ID Nº 2, caracterizado porque el producto o materia agrícola es polenta, harina de maíz, aceite de maíz, almidón de maíz, gluten de maíz, tortas de maíz, un cosmético o un agente de carga.
