Abstract
Un dispositivo de comunicación y un método en el mismo para la obtención de una posición del dispositivo de comunicación. El dispositivo de comunicación opera en un entorno de comunicación inalámbrica que comprende redes de comunicación inalámbrica que comprenden uno o más Puntos de Acceso de alcance más amplio y Redes Inalámbricas Localizadas (LWN, por sus siglas en inglés) que comprenden uno o más Puntos de Acceso de LWN, El dispositivo de comunicación determinan si se encuentra en una LWN, cuando se encuentra en una LWN, recibe su posición desde un AP de LWN en la LWN. Luego mide y registra un primer conjunto de valores de Intensidad de Señal Recibida de uno o más Puntos de Acceso de alcance más amplio. Cuando no se encuentra en una LWN, mide y registra un segundo conjunto de valores de RSS del uno o más AP de alcance más amplio, y escala cada uno del segundo conjunto de valores de RSS por medio de un factor de escala calculado para cada uno de los uno o más AP de alcance más amplio con base en el primer conjunto de valores de RSS y los valores de RSS de referencia de los uno o más AP de alcance más amplio. Y a continuación, el dispositivo de comunicación calcula la posición con base en los valores de RSS escalados.
