Un procesador para el procesamiento de una señal de audio (200), que comprende: un analizador (202) para la derivación de una señal de control de la ventana (204) desde la señal de audio (200) que indica un cambio de una primera ventana asimétrica (1400) es una segunda ventana (1402), o que indica un cambio de una tercera ventana (1450) a una cuarta ventana asimétrica (1452), en el que la segunda ventana (1402) es más corta que la primera ventana (1400), o en el que la tercera ventana (1450) es más corta que la cuarta ventana (1452); un constructor de la ventana (206) para la construcción de la segunda ventana (1402), por el uso de una primera porción de solapamiento (800) de la primera ventana asimétrica (1400), en el que el constructor de la ventana (206) está configurado para determinar una primera porción de solapamiento (1000) de la segunda ventana (1402) por el uso de una primera porción de solapamiento truncada de la primera ventana asimétrica, o en el que el constructor de la ventana está configurado para calcular una segunda porción de solapamiento (1330) de la tercera ventana (1450) por el uso de una segunda porción de solapamiento truncada (814) de la cuarta ventana asimétrica (1452); y un windower (208) para la aplicación de la primera y la segunda ventana o la tercera y la cuarta ventana para obtener porciones de la señal de audio mostradas en ventanas (210).
