Abstract

Se provee una planta resistente a Helminthosporium turcicum, mejorada, en especial una planta de maíz, que comprende un polinucleótido con uno o varios genes mediadores de resistencia, por ejemplo en un fragmento truncado de cromosoma de la accesión Pepitilla, como también una célula, un tejido, una parte, grano y semilla correspondientes, un polinucleótido aislado, que comprende uno o varios genes mediadores de resistencia contra Helminthosporium turcicum, un vector, una célula de planta transgénica, que contiene este polinucleótido. Además también incluye marcadores adecuados y su utilización para introducir la resistencia o el transgén en una planta, como también la identificación de plantas de maíz mejoradas, que presentan un fragmento de cromosoma truncado.
