Abstract

Se describe un cable óptico que comprende un núcleo óptico y una vaina que envuelve el núcleo óptico. El núcleo óptico comprende una serie de unidades ópticas que tienen colores respectivos y que están enrolladas alrededor de un eje longitudinal del cable. La vaina comprende al menos una sección longitudinal no opaca, a través de la cual es posible ver una secuencia de colores de las unidades ópticas desde el exterior del cable. La secuencia de color actúa como un identificador para el cable. Por lo tanto, el cable puede identificarse fácilmente (por ejemplo, entre otros cables tendidos dentro del mismo conducto), mediante una simple inspección visual de la estructura interna del cable, a través de la o las secciones no opacas de su vaina externa.
