Abstract

Métodos para preparar un hidrolizado que contiene moléculas de azúcar soluble proveniente de la biomasa que contiene celulosa y hemicelulosa. En el proceso se extraen azúcares hemicelulosa, y el hidrolizado que se obtiene como resultado se puede utilizar para nutrir la fermentación microbiana para producir productos de interés. Reivindicación 1: Un método para extraer moléculas de azúcar de la biomasa, caracterizado porque comprende: (a) poner en contacto biomasa con aproximadamente 0,5% de ácido nítrico (peso en peso), aproximadamente 0,5% de glicerol (peso en peso), y agua, para producir de esa manera una biomasa impregnada con ácido; y (b) alimentar la biomasa impregnada con ácido a un digestor a través de un dispositivo para cambiar la presión, donde la biomasa impregnada con ácido se calienta en el digestor hasta entre aproximadamente 140ºC y aproximadamente 145ºC durante entre aproximadamente 40 minutos y aproximadamente 45 minutos, para producir de esa manera una composición que comprende un líquido hidrolizado y sólidos residuales, donde el líquido hidrolizado comprende moléculas de azúcar soluble.
