Abstract

Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para producir etanol que contenga: hidrogenizar ácido acético a partir de una corriente de alimentación de ácido acético en un reactor para obtener un producto de etanol sin tratar; separar al menos una porción del producto de etanol sin tratar en la primera columna en un primer destilado que contiene acetaldehído y acetato de etilo y un primer resido que contiene etanol, acetato de etil, agua y ácido acético; introduciendo una corriente de ácido diluido a la primera columna en un ubicación por encima del punto de alimentación del producto de etanol sin tratar y recuperar el etanol del primer residuo.Claim 1: A process for producing ethanol containing: hydrogenating acetic acid from a feed stream of acetic acid in a reactor to obtain an untreated ethanol product; separating at least a portion of the untreated ethanol product in the first column in a first distillate containing acetaldehyde and ethyl acetate and a first residue containing ethanol, ethyl acetate, water and acetic acid; by introducing a stream of diluted acid to the first column at a location above the feed point of the untreated ethanol product and recovering the ethanol from the first residue.
