Abstract
La presente solicitud se refiere a los campos de agricultura, reproducción vegetal o manipulación genética en busca de plantas con mayor rendimiento, estimación de cosechas y manejo de cosechas. En particular, los métodos describen aquí métodos para predecir un rendimiento de una planta a través de la medida de metabolitos específicos, ya sea individualmente o en combinación con algún otro en un tejido reproductivo vegetal específico. Los métodos predictivos vegetales descritos aquí se pueden usar para predecir el rendimiento de poblaciones vegetales, así como para permitir prácticas de manejo de cosechas más eficientes (por ejemplo, cantidad y momento de las aplicaciones de productos químicos, o cantidad de agua de irrigación aplicada a un campo). Reivindicación 1: Un método para predecir el rendimiento en una planta, comprendiendo el método: a) tomar una muestra de tejido de inflorescencia femenino no polinizado a partir de una planta; b) medir uno o más marcadores de metabolitos del rendimiento en el tejido de a); c) comparar los niveles de marcadores de metabolitos del rendimiento medidos en b) frente a una curva de calibración, en el que la curva de calibración correlaciona el rendimiento de grano con los niveles de marcadores de metabolitos del rendimiento medidos en tejido de inflorescencia femenino no polinizado; y d) predecir el rendimiento de grano en una planta.
