Abstract

Un método para modificar un dispositivo intercambiador de calor que tiene por lo menos un tubo para el intercambio de calor, dicho método comprende reemplazar por lo menos una porción del por lo menos un tubo para el intercambio de calor corriente arriba del área donde se determinó un pico del flujo de calor por un dispositivo mejorador de flujo para crear un patrón de flujo deseable en un fluido de proceso que fluye a través del por lo menos un tubo para el intercambio de calor. Un proceso para producir olefinas, que comprende hacer pasar un hidrocarburo a través de un tubo para el intercambio de calor en una cámara de calentamiento radiante en condiciones en las cuales se lleva a cabo la pirólisis del hidrocarburo, donde en el tubo para el intercambio de calor hay dispuesto un dispositivo mejorador de flujo para crear un patrón de flujo deseable del hidrocarburo que fluye a través del tubo para el intercambio de calor; donde el dispositivo mejorador de flujo se dispone de manera selectiva en el por lo menos un tubo para el intercambio de calor corriente arriba de un área donde se determinó que había un pico del flujo de calor o en dicha área, en el por lo menos un tubo para el intercambio de calor.
