Abstract
Muchos dispositivos portátiles de reproduccion de sonido no pueden decodificar y reproducir el contenido codificado de audio que tenga una banda ancha y un amplio rango dinámico con sonoridad e inteligibilidad consistentes a menos que el contenido codificado de audio estuviese preparado especialmente para estos dispositivos. Este problema se puede superar si se incluye en el contenido codificado unos metadatos que especifiquen un perfil adecuado de compresion de rango dinámico ya sea por valores absolutos o por valores diferenciales relativos a otro perfil conocido de compresion. Asimismo un dispositivo de reproduccion de sonido pregrabado puede adaptarse para aplicar ganancia y limitacion al audio pregrabado. Se revelan implementaciones en codificadores, en transcodificadores y en decodificadores.
