Abstract

Una interconexion de redes de malla de puntos de acceso en una red de servicio de suministro provee una disposicion más eficiente y efectiva en cuanto al costo para comunicar datos entre los medidores y el servicio de suministro vinculando los puntos de acceso de multiples subredes a los efectos de la comunicacion con el servicio de suministro. Corno consecuencia, no se requiere que cada subred individual se comunique directamente con el servicio de suministro. En esos puntos de acceso que están eximidos de la necesidad de comunicarse directamente con el servicio de suministro, pueden eliminarse o desactivarse el mecanismo de comunicacion, por ejemplo el modem celular, para así reducir las inversiones de capital y/o los costos operativos. Asimismo, los enlaces a una WAN pueden activarse o desactivarse selectivamente a los efectos de la provision de banda ancha, por ejemplo segun demanda, a fin de reaccionar a los cambios de las condiciones en las subredes.
