Abstract
Proceso para producir ácido acético o una sal del mismo que comprende los pasos de: (a) proporcionar un flujo continuo de gas que comprende: (i) un gas que comprende monoxido de carbono, (ii) un gas que comprende monoxido de carbono, e H, y (iii) ungas que comprende H y dioxido de carbono, dentro de un biorreactor, dicho biorreactor contiene un medio acuoso nutriente y la bacteria anaerobica C. 1jungdahlii ERI-2; (b) dirigir un flujo de dicho medio nutriente acuoso dentro de dicho biorreactor,y (c) fermentar dicho gas y dicho medio nutriente usando dicha bacteria a un pH menor que 5,1, bajo condiciones que permitan convertir el gas en dicho ácido acético en un medio líquido o caldo; donde al menos 2 g/L de dicho ácido acético se produceen forma de ácido en dicho biorreactor. Proceso para producir hidrogeno que comprende fermentar un gas que comprende monoxido de carbono en un biorreactor que contiene un medio acuoso nutriente y una cepa anaerobica B. smithii.Process for producing acetic acid or a salt thereof comprising the steps of: (a) providing a continuous flow of gas comprising: (i) a gas comprising carbon monoxide, (ii) a gas comprising carbon monoxide, and H, and (iii) ungas comprising H and carbon dioxide, within a bioreactor, said bioreactor contains an aqueous nutrient medium and the anaerobic bacterium C. 1 jungdahlii ERI-2; (b) directing a flow of said aqueous nutrient medium within said bioreactor, and (c) fermenting said gas and said nutrient medium using said bacterium at a pH less than 5.1, under conditions that allow the gas to be converted into said acetic acid in a liquid medium or broth; wherein at least 2 g / L of said acetic acid are produced as an acid in said bioreactor. Biologically pure cultures of Clostridium 1jungdalii ERI-2 microorganisms [ATCC No. 55380] Bacillus smithii ERI-H2 [ATCC No. 55404] and mixed cultures containing Clostridium 1jungdalii ERI-2 [ATCC No. 55380] and Bacillus smithii ERI-H2 [ ATCC No. 55404]. Process for producing hydrogen comprising fermenting a gas comprising carbon monoxide in a bioreactor containing an aqueous nutrient medium and an anaerobic strain B. smithii.
