Abstract

Plantas , semillas y productos derivados de las mismas, en particular a plantas Brassica, a los productos de las semillas derivados de las mismas, que presentan secuencias mutantes que proporcionan un perfil rico en ácido oleico al aceite de las semillas. Más particularmente, refiere a las secuencias de ácido graso delta-12 desaturasa mutante a las que se hace asimismo referencia en la presente memoria como secuencias de FAD2, en dichas plantas que proporcionan un perfil rico en ácido oleico al aceite de las semillas. Reivindicacion 1:, Molécula de ácido nucleico aislada que comprende una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica una proteína delta-12 oleato desaturasa (FAD2), presentando dicha proteína FAD2 una sustitucion para la prolina en la posicion 216 con relacion a la proteína FAD2 natural.
