Abstract

Composicion aglomerante de bajo costo a base de almidon y agua y método relacionado para formar corazones y moldes de arena sílica para fundiciones, donde los granos de arena se pro-cubren con almidon que posee aditivos que hacen a la arena cubierta efectiva para soplar dichos corazones y moldes. Se incluyen uno o más aditivos con el almidon; preferiblemente tripolifosfato de sodio y silicio o Silres BS16. El almidon preferido es almidon de tapioca. El aglomerante de la presente es altamente competitivo debido a su bajo costo y efectividad para formar corazones y moldes de arena sílica, siendo particularmente efectivo para usarse en fundiciones de aluminio para la industria automotriz.
