Abstract
Se describen un método y un aparato para implementar la seguridad de los datos y la solicitud automática de repeticion (ARQ), en un sistema de comunicacion inalámbrica. Se incluyen entidades cifradoras en una unidad transceptora inalámbrica (WTRU), y se incluyen entidades de puente de acceso (aGW) y ARQ externa o control de enlace de radio (RLC) en la WTRU, así como también un Nodo B evolucionado (eNode-B). Cada entidad cifradora está ubicada arriba de una entidad ARQ externa. Las entidades cifradoras cifran y descifran un bloque de datos, usando un numero de secuencia (SN) genérico asignado al bloque de datos. Las entidades ARQ externas pueden segmentar el bloque de datos cifrado en multiples unidades de datos de paquetes (PDU), pueden concatenar multiples bloques de datos cifrados a una PDU o pueden generar una PDU a partir de un bloque de datos. Las entidades ARQ externas pueden segmentar o resegmentar la PDU cuando se produce un fallo de transmision.
