Abstract

La presente se refiere a un método para recubrir un objeto alargado, en particular, un cable eléctrico o una tubería. El método comprende las etapas que consisten en: a) proporcionar un conjunto e recubrimiento que comprende: 1) un elemento de recubrimiento elástico tubular que tiene al menos un extremo que se pliega para obtener al menos una parte plegada hacia atrás y al menos una parte plegada hacia delante; 2) un primer elemento de soporte que se ubica en una posicion radialmente interna con respecto a dicho elemento de recubrimiento, y que sostiene dicho elemento de recubrimiento en una condicion radialmente estirada, y 3) un segundo elemento de soporte coaxialmente dispuesto alrededor de dicho primer elemento de soporte y dicho segundo elemento de soporte sostiene dicha parte plegada hacia delante del elemento de recubrimiento elástico tubular en una condicion radialmente estirada; b) colocar dicho conjunto de recubrimiento substancialmente en una posicion coaxial con respecto al objeto alargado y en una posicion radialmente externa con respecto a él; c) remover dicho primer elemento de soporte para permitir que el manguito se contraiga gradualmente sobre el elemento alargado; y d) remover dicho segundo elemento de soporte para permitir que dicha parte plegada hacia atrás y dicha parte plegada hacia delante se contraigan gradualmente sobre el objeto alargado.
