Abstract

Seguimiento del movimiento, basado en imágenes, de una cantidad de objetos en un área particular. Una cantidad de medios de registro de imágenes graba repetidamente datos pertenecientes a multiples representaciones instantáneas de acontecimientos que tienen lugar dentro del área. Específicamente, por lo menos un par estéreo de cámara (101S, 101b) graba repetidamente datos de imágenes estéreo (D1', D1ö) en base a los cuales una unidad de procesamiento de datos (110) determina repetidamente una posicion respectiva para cada uno de los objetos. De acuerdo con la presente, una primera cámara (101 a) y una segunda cámara (101 b) en el par estéreo están separadas entre sí en una distancia de base. Además, la cámaras (101 a, 101 b) son esencialmente paralelas entre sí y están orientadas hacia el área, de modo tal que un primer plano de imagen de la primera cámara (101 a) registra una porcion del área, que se superpone sustancialmente a una porcion del área registrada por un segundo plano de imagen de la segunda cámara (101 b).
