Abstract
La presente se refiere a un catalizador, en particular para la preparacion de anhídrido ftálico mediante la oxidacion en fase gaseosa de o-xileno y/o naftaleno, que tiene un soporte inerte y por lo menos una capa que se ha aplicado al mismo y tiene una composicion catalíticamente activa que comprende TIO2, caracterizado porque por lo menos una porcion del TiO2 que se utiliza tiene las siguientes propiedades: a) la superficie BET mayor de 15 m2/g, b) por lo menos un 25% del volumen total de los poros está formado por poros con un radio de entre 60 y 400 nm, y c) el tamano de cristal primario es mayor de 22 Angstrom. También se describe un proceso preferido para preparar un catalizador con dichas características, y el uso preferido del dioxido de titanio que se utiliza de acuerdo con la presente.
