Abstract
La presente se refiere a un método para la produccion de cobre metálico con relacion a la produccion de cobre hidrometalurgica en base a cloruro. En este método, el material en bruto de cobre es lixiviado utilizando una solucion de cloruro de cobre (II) -cloruro de álcali para obtener una solucion de cloruro de cobre (I). El cobre es precipitado a partir de la solucion como oxido de cobre (I) y la solucion de cloruro de álcali que se forma es dirigida a electrolisis de cloro-álcali para producir el cloro, hidroxido de álcali e hidrogeno requeridos en lixiviacion de material en bruto y la recuperacion de cobre.
