Abstract

Se lleva a cabo lo siguiente para disparar una comunicacion por medio de una unidad inalámbrica de transmision/recepcion (WTRU) a partir de un conjunto de servicio básico (BSS) en una red inalámbrica de área local (WLAN). Se determina la clase más alta de tráfico de servicio y calidad de servicio (QoS) para la clase más alta a partir de una baliza (beacon) de conjunto de servicio básico (BSS). La conmutacion se termina y se retiene la comunicacion con un BSS corriente cuando la relacion entre senal y ruido (SNR) o la intensidad de senal recibida (RSS) es mayor que un umbral alto de la clase más alta Otros criterios son evaluados para determinar si una conmutacion es conveniente cuando la SNR o RSS es menor que el umbral alto.
