Abstract

A protective device (10) of lines (12) that transmit telephone and / or data signals at a predetermined DC voltage, nominally 48 volts. A bistable relay (11) interleaved in the pair of lines has a normal closed output (SALA) connected to the installation to be protected and a normal open output (SALB), a rectifier (d3, D4, D7, D8) in each of said relay outputs configured with polarity opposite the rectifier of the other relay output, a disconnection circuit (19) forming a first series circuit (R1, R2, R3, C1, C2) with the rectifier of said normal output closed from the relay, this first series circuit being connected to the coil (15) of said relay in order to energize it in case of overvoltage of said line and switch said relay to its normal open output (SALB1, SALB2), and a reconnection circuit (21 ) which forms a second series circuit with the rectifier of said normal output open from the relay, this second series circuit also being connected to the coil of said relay so as to switch said relay to its normal output closed when the overvoltage of di cha line and return the line voltage to the environment of said predetermined nominal direct current voltage.
