Abstract
Un sistema de trayecto de retorno HFC utiliza conversión y transporte digitales en el nodo de fibra óptica, de manera de reemplazar la tecnología láser analógico con una tecnología digital de banda de base de alta velocidad, que provee inmunidad contra las problemáticas limitaciones de los láseres analógicos, permitiendo que se puedan cubrir distancias mayores y evitando potencialmente la necesidad de contar con los equipos físicos repetidores del centro de conexión requeridos en los sistemas analógicos, entre otros beneficios.
