Abstract
La formulacion monomérica de hidrogel de silicona se prepara mezclando una mezcla formadora de hidrogel de silicona, un iniciador de acilfosfina, y un ácido. Los sistemas iniciadores de acilfosfinas y las formulaciones usados en la fabricacion de lentes oftálmicos son estabilizados por la disminucion del pH del sistema o por el agregado de un ácido a la mezcla de monomero para fabricar lentes oftálmicas. La estabilidad del sistema iniciador incrementa el tiempo de trabajo de la formulacion ya que reduce la necesidad de preparar los materiales de partida y la posibilidad de introducir variaciones lote a lote y variaciones intra-lote en la produccion de lentes.The monomeric silicone hydrogel formulation is prepared by mixing a silicone hydrogel-forming mixture, an acylphosphine initiator, and an acid. The acylphosphine initiator systems and the formulations used in the manufacture of ophthalmic lenses are stabilized by the decrease in the pH of the system or by the addition of an acid to the monomer mixture to manufacture ophthalmic lenses. The stability of the initiator system increases the working time of the formulation as it reduces the need to prepare the starting materials and the possibility of introducing batch-to-batch variations and intra-batch variations in the production of lenses.
