Abstract

The multimedia device has been programmed to generate a computer presentation that suggests the user to select an Internet information topic. The multimedia device stores the received packages and selectively retrieves the packages to generate presentations such as Web pages using those packages that correspond to the topical information selected by the user. The method for using the arrangement includes the steps of: formatting a broadcast channel comprising Internet information packets in relation to a plurality of topics, and identification data for transmitting to said user terminals, said identification data that identifies which of said plurality of topics correspond to the packages; transmission of said broadcast channel to said user terminals through said satellite; reception of said broadcast channel in a number of the user terminals mentioned; generation of a menu, using the aforementioned multimedia device to list said plurality of topics; determination of a user input signal corresponding to the selection of one of said plurality of topics from said menu; determination of which of said packages corresponds to said user input signal using said identification and extraction of
