Abstract

El implante intervertebral posee la forma de un cuerpo de soporte (1) que comprende un puente central (2) y lados (3, 4) unidos al puente (2) formando unasola pieza. Los lados (3, 4) se encuentran ubicados en dos planos (5, 6) que se extienden en forma sustancialmente paralela entre sí, separados por el puente(2), los cuales se pueden apoyar como superficies de soporte en los cuerpos de las vértebras más proximas. El puente (2) presenta un cilindro guía hueco(7) con por lo menos una rosca (8, 28) el cual se extiende en forma sustancialmente paralela a los lados (3, 4) y entre los mismos. El implante intervertebralde acuerdo con la invencion presenta las siguientes ventajas: se puede restablecer el radio de lordosis natural de la columna delpaciente en formaadecuada y este ángulo puede ser determinado antes de la operacion; de este modo se dan condiciones optimas para la incorporacion del implante; una técnicade insercion no traumática, ya que el implante puede ser atornillado en formasuave y controlada, en lugar del procedimiento de encastre; y unatécnica operatoria simplificada (también invasiva mínima) que se puede realizar con una técnica de operacion de 3 pasos por medio de un perno guía.
