Abstract
Un proceso para purificar oxido de propileno por destilacion, en el cual la destilacion es llevada a cabo poco tiempo antes de que el oxido de propileno(OP) sea usado. La calidad de los polioles y poliuretanos se puede mejorar mucho si el oxido de propileno es sometido a este método. La destilacion,preferiblemente se lleva a cabo menos de 1 semana antes de que el OP sea usado. El proceso de destilacion se puede llevar a cabo a presion atmosférica opresion ligeramente mayor (1-3 bar absolutos) ya 35-60sC o a una presion de 0,99 a 0,5 bar absolutos y temperatura ambiente. Al OP no se agregan otros productos químicos más que el gas inerte. El OP purificado se puede usar en cualquier aplicacion conocida del OP, especialmente para la preparacion de polímeros y másen particular de poliéter-polioles. Tales poliéter-polioles se pueden usar en la preparacion de poliuretanos, en particular espumas flexibles y elastomeros.Otros objetos de la invencion son el uso de dicho oxido de propileno, el polímero obtenido empleando dicho oxido de propileno y el poliuretano preparado apartir de dicho polímero.A process to purify propylene oxide by distillation, in which distillation is carried out shortly before propylene oxide (OP) is used. The quality of the polyols and polyurethanes can be greatly improved if the propylene oxide is subjected to this method. Distillation is preferably carried out less than 1 week before the OP is used. The distillation process can be carried out at slightly higher atmospheric pressure (1-3 bar absolute) and at 35-60sC or at a pressure of 0.99 at 0.5 bar absolute and room temperature. The OP does not add other chemicals other than inert gas. The purified OP can be used in any known application of the OP, especially for the preparation of polymers and more particularly polyether polyols. Such polyether polyols can be used in the preparation of polyurethanes, in particular flexible and elastomeric foams. Other objects of the invention are the use of said propylene oxide, the polymer obtained using said propylene oxide and the polyurethane prepared from said polymer .
