Abstract
Se preparan diarilcarbonatos tales como el carbonato de difenilo mediante la reaccion de compuestos hidroxiaromático tales como fenol y oxígeno ymonoxido de carbono en presencia de una composicion catalizadora constituida por un metal del Grupo VIIIBtal como paladio o un compuesto del mismo, una fuentede bromuro tal como bromuro de amonio cuaternario o hexaalquilguanidinio y una polianilina en forma parcialmente oxidada y parcialmente reducida. Lapolianilina es suplementada con haluro en formade una mezcla con un polímero aglutinante que contiene grupos éter o éster y una sal formadora decomplejos. Los carbonatos de diarilo son valiosos intermediarios para la preparacion de policarbonatos por transesterificacion con bisfenoles en la fusion.Este método de preparacion de policarbonatos ofrece ventajas ambientales con respecto a los métodos que emplean el fosfeno, un gas toxico, como reactivoe hidrocarburos alifáticos clorados ambientalmente nocivos, tales como el cloruro de metileno, como solventes.
