Abstract
Un proceso de tratamiento de residuos de escoria de aluminio (PNM) para producir un agregado liviano de alúmina alta, que posee nitruro de aluminio(AlN) y/o aluminio libre (Al) y/o cloruro de aluminio (AlCl3) con un tamano de partícula entre 0,3y 300 micrones, es decir, que describe finos paraproducir un agregado liviano de alúmina alta. El proceso se caracteriza porque el PNM se alimenta en un horno rotativo sellado y se lo calienta a unatemperatura entre 2000 y 4000° F mientras que se alimenta oxígeno o una mezcla de oxígeno y agua al horno con menos de alrededor del 20% del total de laenergía de combustión para calentar el PNM entre 2000 y 4000° F suministrado de una fuente externa. El proceso no requiere aglomeración previa del fino.
