Abstract

Un método para formar una derivación en un punto intermedio de un cable coaxil contínuo que comprende un conductor interno, un dieléctrico que rodea alconductor interno, y un conductor externo que rodea al dieléctrico. El método comprende las etapas de: formar una abertura en el conductor externo del cablecoaxil 1000; formar una cavidad en el dieléctrico, debajo de la abertura; y montar un inserto de derivación 20 en el cable coaxil, comprendiendo el insertode derivación un chip de senal 22, de manera que el chip de senal 22 esté ubicado en la cavidad adyacente al conductor interno del cable coaxil y puedaextraer senales desde el conductor interno, y/o insertar senales en el conductor interno. El conjunto de derivación comprende un alojamiento dederivación 100 y un inserto de derivación 20. El alojamiento de derivación 100 comprende una primera porción extrema; una segunda porción extrema, una porciónintermedia que tiene una ranura 14; medios para fijar el alojamiento alrededor de un punto intermedio de un cable coaxil; medios para sellarelectromagnéticamente y ambientalmente el alojamiento de derivación al cable coaxil, un elemento alimentador 12 que tiene una relación espacial conocida conla ranura14; y medios para montar un inserto de derivación en la ranura 14 del alojamiento de derivación. El inserto de derivación 20 comprende: una placafrontal de derivación 21 que comprende: una cara interna, una cara externa, medios para montar la placa frontal 21 en un alojamiento de derivación de cable100, y medios para sellar electromagnéticamente y ambientalmente la placa frontal 21 al alojamiento de derivación de cable 100; un chip de senal 22montado en la cara interna de la placa frontal; y medios para proveer entrada y/o salida de RF, estando dichos medios montados en la cara externa de la placa
