Abstract

El presente invento se refiere a una disposición concentrada de abonados para proveer servicio telefónico a un conjunto de unidades abonadas y a unmétodo para operar dicha disposición. La disposición concentrada de abonado incluye un conjuntode unidades de abonado cada una de las cuales tiene unnúmero de serie electrónico único que están acopladas a un controlador de sistema concentrado de abonado que provee una frecuencia de radio (RF)interconectada al tranceptor de estación basenormal de una disposición telefónico celular. El controlador de sistema de abonado incluye un conjunto desistemas moduladores-desmoduladores (modems) y un transceptor RF y una disposición de antena que está configurado paratransmiti r la informaciónsuficiente para conducir múltiples llamadas telefónicas a través de largas y cortas distancias. El controlador de sistema concentrado de abonado tambiénincluye el circuito de control para acoplar el conjunto de unidad deabonado al conjunto de modems mediante una disposición multiplexor utilizando lainformación almacenada. En la realización preferida el número de modems es considerablemente menor al número de unidades de abonados las cuales sonejecutadas de unamanera sim plificada de modo que el costo por usuario del servicio telefónico celular es reducido. El método para operar esta disposiciónconsiste en monitorear un mensaje, determinar a qué unidad de abonado está dirigido y conducir lacomunicación con la unidad de abonado a través de unmodem.
