Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la producción de metanol a partir de gas de síntesis. El gas de síntesis se comprime, y en una primerazona de síntesis se convierte el gas de síntesis catalíticamente en metanol crudo, a alta presión y temperatura. El metanol crudo y los gases noreaccionados son tratados de acuerdo con el invento como sigue: Parte del gas no reaccionado es comprimido y recirculado hacia la primera zona de síntesis, yotra parte del gas no reaccionado es recuperado como gas de purga y va a una segunda zona de síntesis. El metanol crudo es despresurado para producir unaprimera corriente de metanol líquido desgasificado, la que es refinada en una primera zona de refinación de metanol. Con el gas de purga que alimenta lasegunda zona de síntesis se repiten las mismas etapas, es decir, conversión catalítica, compresión y recirculación del gas no reaccionado a la segunda zonade síntesis y recuperación de parte del gas no reaccionado como gas depurga. Se obtiene también una segunda corriente de metanol crudo y de metanol líquidodesgasificado, la que es refinada en una segunda zona de refinación de metanol. De la segunda corriente de gas de purga se recupera un gas enriquecido enhidrógenoen una zona de recuperación de hidrógeno. También se recupera gas del metanol crudo obtenido de la segunda zona de síntesis. De este modo se obtienepor un lado un corriente de gas recuperado substancialmente libre de metanol y por otro lado una corriente de metanol sustancialmente desgasificado, lascorrientes de gas recuperado se pasan por compresión de gas de múltiples etapas con lo cual se obtiene un condensado líquido y una corriente de gas comprimido,la que puede alimentar nuevamente la segunda zona de síntesis de metanol.
