Abstract

Se divulga un proceso para mejorar la tasa de polimerización de estado sólido de los polímeros o copolímeros de tereftalato etilénico, que comprendecopolimerización de ácido tereftálico o tereftalato dimetílico y glicol etilénico con 2 a10 mol % de glicol dietilénico y 0,1 a 10 mol % de dimetanolciclohexánico, para formar un prepolímero, formando partículas sólidas a partir del prepolímero y polimerizando en estado sólido las partículas a unatemperatura de transición vítrea y la del punto de fusión de dichas partículas, hasta alcanzarse un valor de V.I. previamente determinado.A process is disclosed to improve the solid state polymerization rate of ethylenic terephthalate polymers or copolymers, which comprises copolymerization of terephthalic acid or dimethyl terephthalate with 2 to 10 mol% of diethylene glycol and 0.1 to 10 mol% of cyclohexane dimethanol, to form a prepolymer, forming solid particles from the prepolymer and solid state polymerizing the particles at a glass transition temperature and the melting point of said particles, until a value of VI is reached previously determined.
