Description
A WINDOW REFLECTING SOLAR RAYS BUT ADMITTING LIGHT RAYS WITH EMBODIED
AIR-FLOW CHANNELS - WINCO.
This invention relates to the improvement of comfort in all buildings subjected to direct solar heating without the help of mechanical appl . ances. This construction unit is to be received in an opening formed in a building wall and more particulary has reference to a construction which is so designed as to include a solar heating area and an air flow area which is constructed that the air entering therethrough may be channeled within very fine limmits. These descriptions and specifications are supplemented with four drawings having drawing numbers WINCO-1, WINCO-2, WINCO-3 and WINCO-4.
A still further object is the provision of a possibility of air circulation whitout any stimulation by a mechanical means.
One of the principal object of this invention is to provide a better security against intruders since the only area of a size sufficient to permit access into the building is the solar heating area and to gain admittance therethrough the transparent sandwich pane, 14 ft 15 would, have to be removed from its framework which, of course, is a rather painstaking operation, in that the transparent pane 14 is not as brittle as glass.
I am aware of the fact that it has heretofore been suggested in the building field to corporate within a unit frame a window section and a ventilation section. In practice, it has been confirmed that the earlier construction units have been so designed that rain can enter the building through the ventilating area, especially when the area is in the position for admitting air into the building. The conical form of the mouth of the ventilationchannel 8 does not allow any drop of rai water to remain on the outer linnings.
This transparent sandwich pane clarifies still another important object of this invention namely the reflection of about 81% - 85% of solar rays that might enter the building through the solar heating area and thus rendering the rooms uncomfortable to remain in.
Since the pane is not brittle, the demand of special carefulness during both manufacturing and installation of each unit minimizes a great deal as compared to the convectional glassed windows. Consequently the degree of skill demanded from the worker is not too high. As a result a quick and easy multiple unit installation in building openings is achieved as one of the object of this invention.

In an extremely hot areas a double transparent sandwich pane with an air space between can be used as shown on WINCO-4.
Another object of my invention is to provide simple windows without securing them with steel mesh which manifests an entity of buildings for convicts. This possibility unseals and breeds the flexibilities at the disposal of architects to vary the forms of their windows.
This constructional unit is to be used in residential houses, hospital, office, school and light industrial buildings (In industries where solutions like tri, bensen are not applied.)
The head of frame 3 the sill 25 the side jambs 29 and a solid mullion which are joined toghether by glue and screws to form a simple frame is adapted to be installed in an opening provided in a wall of any material such as concrete, brick, stone and wood.
All wooden parts of this unit is vacuum impregnated twice to ensure among other things, protection against destruction by termites. It is required that this method of impregnation would permit the wood to saturate the agents of protection to a depth of 10 mm into the wood.
The frame and the sash are profiled in such way that an airturbulence channel 22 is obtained which prevents dampness to creep up to the air excluder thus achieving the prevention of decay of wood conditioned by dampness as the major destroyer of wooden construction.
This frame is fixed at the right position by the help of the adjustable expansion bults.then after the clearance around the frame is secured with stuffing of a strip of stonewool 1 or the like. The ends of the stuffing is the secured with a mastic 2 having a colour harmonizing with the coating of the frame. A pair of adjustable expansion bult 20 is to be used in fixing each side of the frame.
The head of frame 3 and sill 25, top outer linning 6, bottom outer linning 18, top inner linning 24 and bottom inner linning 27 are perforated with ventilating channels 8 with a diameter of 30 millimeter at a centre to centre distance of at most 150 millimeters. The position of the airflow areas enables natural circulation of air at the minimum difference in temperature on either side of the constructional unit.

# ' The surface of contact between the top and bottom linnings 6, 24 and and rails of sash 4 respectively 18 are covered with insects nets 7 and dust filers 9 which purify the circulating air particularly that which enters the building. The edges of 7 and 9 are secured with excluder which might otherwise lead to increeping of dampness and leakage of rainwater which precondition damages due to inclement weather conditions .
The linnings are hinged 5 to the sash on one side and screwed 10 tc on the opposite side according to section A-A as shown on drawing r..~ber WINCO-3. This provides the possibility for changing the fitter .- ar.; the insects net if it needs be. This operation can be carried out by any grown up occupant who can handle a screwdriver.
The hinges 5, though zincked, are protected by a zinc drip 17 respectively a lead 21, Both zinc drip 17 and lead 21 are fixed at their rttht positions by screws 16 which provide a clearance for opening the c.ter linnings.
Profiles of the frame are provided with rounded corners to facilitate coating and painting and beveling of the sill 25 to emeliorate the c.t flowing of running water.
The top rail 4 and the bottom rail 18 of sash are glued and screwed tc the stiles 32 to ensure stability and bearability of the transparent sandwich panes. The non brittle transparent sheet 14 of either PLACA LEXAN or MAKROLON 6 mm thick which withstands high temperatures up tt 130Sc is laminated with a reflecto shield 15 RS-440 or the like.
These form the sandwich system of this unit which reflects about 80% 85% of solar rays away from the solar area. This sandwich pane is fixed to the sash by means of screws 13 at centre to centre distance of 15C mn around the edges of the pane. These screws are concealed by the use cf putty 12 which matches the colour of the sash.
The ends of the ventilationchannels are secured with plastic grills which prevent mechanical demages by children and direct inflow of torrential rainfall.
The locking components as indicated on fig D-D on drawing number WINCO-3 are mounted by fixing component 1 on the sash and component 2 on a jarh or a mullion as the case may be. A pair of these components is to be used in locking each sash and must be placed at most 120 mm from the bottom or the top of the rails of sash.
