[0001] The present utility model aims to present a new modified orthodontic aligner for joint treatment of apnea that associates and integrates orthodontic treatment with aligners and treatment for snoring and apnea.
ANTECEDENTES DO MODELO DE UTILIDADE BACKGROUND OF THE UTILITY MODEL
[0002] Orthodontic aligners are known from the prior art, for example in patent US10179035B2 which refers to 3D printing orthodontic aligners which may include channels, grooves or notches providing an attachment point for the aligner to apply force to the tooth through the anchor, such as torque, turning force, leverage, pushing, pulling, or 3D control force. Also, in column 10, lines 59-65, US10179035B2 teaches that “The aligner can function as an anti-snoring device by connecting the upper and lower aligners together and moving the lower jaw forward or making the upper aligner with hollow front housing and tubes.” semi-round side hollows or front housing center tube, which can bring in more air while breathing, opening the air passage, reducing snoring”.
[0003] US patent 10363116B2 deals with the manufacture of orthodontic aligners. In column 16, lines 14-25, US10363116B2 reveals that “In some embodiments, occlusal structures to control the relative positioning (e.g. left-right, anteroposterior, etc.) of the upper and lower jaws, such as twin blocks, Occlusal splints, mandibular advancement structures, and the like can be built directly into the appliance by varying the thickness of the occlusal surfaces. These occlusal frameworks can be used to correct various problems related to the patient's bite, including, but not limited to, malocclusions of class II, class III malocclusions, crossbite, open bite and sleep apnea”.

sleep apnea. This version of the appliances would include ramps on the maxillary or mandibular appliance, which interact, bringing the mandible forward when used.”
[0005] Orthodontic treatment with aligners is normally conducted with monthly activations keeping the changes of the first aligner in the series for 10 days and the second aligner in the series for 20 days. Apnea appliances are produced in such a way that they follow the orthodontic movement planned for the month and must be used for sleeping. In this way, apnea devices are changed simultaneously with the evolution of orthodontic treatment.
