Abstract
Sliding overlapping frame, inclined and out-of-square at the top, with two or more frames (sections) (1), which can be manufactured using all types of frame materials, without a fixed skylight, with the guide at the top having two hidden or visible sliding rails (2) per frame (section) (1), in order for the frames to slide as to their vertical axis, in one direction. Each sliding rail contains double rollers (4) on which a steel axis (or bar) is bolted (with a locknut (6)) and placed on the top of the inclined guide (frame) (3) of the window frame. Each axis (or bar) (5) is placed inside the vertical components of frame (section) (1) in specially designed bearings (7). The significance of this invention lies in that it offers the possibility to manufacture, install and use such window frames on inclined surfaces without any restrictions caused by either dimensions or inclination of the space, thus providing unlimited visibility.
Description
DESCRIPTION
INCLINED AND OUT-OF-SQUARE AT THE TOP, OVERLAPPING SLIDING FRAME WITHOUT FIXED SKYLIGHT
This invention can be applied to window frames, external or internal, that are manufactured with any manufacturing material (aluminum, wood, composite). It is a sliding overlapping unidirectional frame, inclined and out-of-square at the top, without fixed skylight, with no limit on the inclination rate, consisting of two or more frames (sections) (1), with a hidden or visible support mechanism for the shortest frames (sections) (1), which allows them to slide towards the taller ones with absolute safety. Naturally, each frame (section) (1) is also complete with a sliding rail system at the bottom as to its horizontal axis.
Until today, inclined surfaces were only known to be mounted with opening frames or sliding frames using a fixed skylight. The installation of opening window frames requires a sufficient internal or external space in order for them to be able to remain in an open position. The installation of sliding window frames on inclined surfaces demands the use of a fixed skylight at the top of the frame with horizontal transoms; elements that limit visibility and do not comply with the standards of modern architecture, which require unrestricted visibility. Moreover, the installation of opening or sliding frames with a fixed skylight on inclined surfaces have allowed until today for the entrance and exit from a space only if the corresponding dimensions and inclination rate facilitate it.
An advantage of the invention is that it provides the ability to use an out-of-square sliding overlapping frame with two or more frames (sections) (1) that is held securely and moves smoothly and quietly
on an inclined surface without the use of a fixed skylight. In this way, the invention fully satisfies the standards of modern architecture, as it allows for entrance and exit from a space without the limit of space dimensions - i.e. the spatial inclination rate -, while ensuring unlimited visibility, thanks to the elimination of visual obstructions, such as horizontal transoms. Therefore, the great importance of the invention lies in the fact that it allows for the construction, installation and use of inclined out-of-square sliding overlapping frames of two or more frames (sections) (1) on inclined surfaces, without the use of a fixed skylight. It is also equipped with sliding rails (2) intended to both hold the frame in place and slide it as to the vertical axis, in one direction.
The inclined and out-of-square at the top, overlapping sliding window frame is characterized by its comprising two or more frames (sections) (1), its ability to be constructed with any material used in manufacturing sliding framew (aluminum, wood, composite) and the fact that it is inclined and out-of-square at the top and thus ideal for installation on inclined surfaces, with the added advantage of not requiring the use of a fixed skylight. It also includes a guide (frame) (3) placed on the top side of the frames (sections) (1) as well as two hidden or visible sliding rails (2) per frame (section) (1). Each sliding rail comes with double rollers (4) between which a steel axis (or bar) (5) is bolted securely (with a locknut (6)). Each sliding rail is installed on the top inclined guide (frame) (3) of the window frame. Each axis (or bar) (5) is placed inside the vertical components of each panel (sheet) (1) in specially designed bearings.
The sliding rails (2) of the inclined guide of the window frame allow for the completely safe, smooth and quiet sliding of one or more frames (sections) (1) towards the other frames. Naturally, at the bottom of each frame (section) (1), the known to this day sliding system on the horizontal axis is included; however, the difference is that the sliding
system of this particular invention allows for the sliding inclined frame to be both held in place and slide as to its vertical axis, which was not possible to achieve with the use of the hitherto existing structures.
Drawing 1 provides an illustration of the frame when closed and Drawing 2 when it is open.
The installation method of the invention involves the measurement of the opening, in which it will be installed, the manufacturing of the inclined out-of-square frame according to the corresponding measurements - which was not considered a possibility until now -, its installation in two or more frames (sections) (1) on the inclined surface using, on the guide (3), the sliding rails (2), as well as the respective specially designed bearings of the axis (5) on the frames (sections) (1).
Claims
1. Sliding overlapping unidirectional frame, inclined and out-of- square at the top, without fixed skylight and with no limit to the inclination rate, comprising two or more frames(sections) (1) that can be manufactured using all manufacturing materials of sliding frames (aluminum, wood, composite); inclined and out-of-square at the top without fixed skylight which, on the guide (3) located at the top, includes two hidden or visible sliding rails (2) per frame (section) (1). Each sliding rail is equipped with double rollers (2), between which a steel axis (or bar) (5) is bolted securely (using a locknut (6)). Each sliding rail (2) is placed on the top of the inclined guide (frame) (3) of the window frame. Each axis (or bar) (5) is placed inside the vertical components of the frame (section) (1) in specially designed bearings (7).
(Each frame (section) (1) includes the known to this day sliding system at the bottom as to its horizontal axis, the difference being that the sliding system of this particular invention allows for the sliding inclined frame to both be kept in place and slide safely and quietly as to the vertical axis)
