Description

Viewing information counting device, viewing device, viewing information counting method, and program
The present invention relates to a viewing information totaling device, a viewing device, a viewing information totaling method, and a program.
Conventionally, for each program content broadcast from a television station, the audience rating is calculated based on viewing information collected from a plurality of viewing devices. The audience rating is one determination criterion for determining the audience rating of the program content. And since the audience rating is important information, for example, it is a criterion for judging the duration of a program at a television station or an advertising effect index at a sponsor company, it is more fair and reliable. Must be expensive.
Therefore, conventionally, a technique has been devised for the purpose of calculating an audience rating closer to the actual viewing situation. For example, Patent Document 1 below discloses a technique for transmitting program reservation information to a computer center when a viewing reservation or recording reservation is made in a broadcast receiving apparatus.

The viewing information storage server 120 includes a viewing information receiving unit 322 and a viewing information registration unit 324. The viewing information receiving unit 322 receives viewing information transmitted from the television 100. The viewing information registration unit 324 registers the viewing information received by the viewing information receiving unit 322 in the viewing information database 122. When the viewing information for each viewing section is sent from the television 100, the viewing information registration unit 324 registers the viewing information indicating the viewing details of the viewing section in the viewing information database 122 for each viewing section. For example, when the recorded viewing information of a certain viewing section is sent from the television 100, the viewing information registration unit 324 registers the recorded viewing information indicating the details of the recorded viewing of the viewing section in the viewing information database 122. Similarly, when real-time viewing information for a certain viewing section is sent from the television 100, the viewing information registration unit 324 registers the recorded viewing information indicating the details of real-time viewing for the viewing section in the viewing information database 122. .
[Viewing Ranking Server 130]
The viewing ranking server 130 includes a rank determination unit 332 and a rank information distribution unit 334. The rank determination unit 332 determines the ranks of a plurality of program contents based on a plurality of viewing information registered in the viewing information database 122. The rank information distribution unit 334 distributes rank information indicating the rank determined by the rank determination unit 332.
For example, for each of a plurality of program contents, the rank determination unit 332 adds up the accumulated time of the recorded program viewing time by the plurality of viewing devices and the accumulated time of the real-time viewing time by the plurality of viewing devices. Is calculated, and the rank is determined based on the total viewing time.
The rank information distribution unit 334 may distribute the rank information indicating the rank immediately after the rank is determined by the rank determination unit 332, or may distribute the rank information at a predetermined timing. Alternatively, distribution may be performed when a distribution request is received from a terminal device.
In particular, in the viewing information database 122 of the present embodiment, viewing information indicating the details (reproduction section, reproduction time, reproduction state, etc.) for each viewing section is registered. Therefore, the rank determination unit 332 can not only determine the rank for each program as described above, but also, for example, determine the rank for each viewing section, or weight the viewing section according to the reproduction state (for example, For example, when fast-forward playback is performed, the weight value is made smaller than normal playback, and when slow playback is performed, the weight value is made larger than normal playback. That is, the viewing ranking server 130 can provide highly reliable audience rating information for each viewing section.

(Rank information distribution)
In the viewing ranking server 130, at a predetermined timing, the rank determination unit 332 uses a plurality of programs based on a plurality of viewing information (recorded program viewing information and real-time viewing information) registered in the viewing information database 122. The rank of content is determined (step S422), and the rank information distribution unit 334 distributes rank information indicating the rank to the television 100 or the like (step S424).
In the television 100, when the rank information receiving unit 312 receives the rank information distributed from the viewing ranking server 130 (step S426), the rank information display unit 314 displays the rank information (step S428).
As described above, in the viewing information totaling system 10 of this embodiment, not only real-time viewing information but also recorded program viewing information is accumulated in the viewing information database 122. Then, the viewing information totaling system 10 determines the rank of the program content based on the real-time viewing information and the recorded program viewing information stored in the viewing information database 122. Thereby, the viewing information totaling system 10 can provide rank information with higher reliability in consideration of both real-time viewing and recorded program viewing.

[Configuration of recorded program viewing information]
FIG. 9 shows a configuration of recorded program viewing information handled in the viewing information totaling system 10 according to the present embodiment. In the example shown in FIG. 9, the recorded program viewing information includes, as data items (detailed information), “actual time during playback”, “broadcast station information”, “recording start time”, “playback time”, and “playback status”. , And a “sent flag”. When the television 100 plays back the recorded program of the program content, the television 100 generates recorded program viewing information having the configuration shown in FIG. 9 and transmits the recorded program viewing information to the viewing information storage server 120. In particular, the television 100 of this embodiment generates recorded program viewing information having the configuration shown in FIG. 9 for each viewing section of program content, and transmits the recorded program viewing information to the viewing information storage server 120.
“Time when playback is started” is set to the time when playback of the viewing section of the program content is started. For example, in the “broadcast station information”, a broadcast station name, a channel number, and the like are set.
“Recording start time” is set to the time when the recording of the program content is started. In the “playback time”, the playback start time (relative time from the beginning of the program content) of the viewing section of the program content is set. From the “recording start time” and the “reproduction time”, the actual broadcast time of the viewing section can be calculated. For example, if “recording start time” is “2012/7/24 19:00:00” and “playback time” is “0:07:15”, the actual broadcast time of the viewing section is “2012 / 7/24 19:07:15 ”.
“Playback state” is set to the playback state of the viewing section of the program content. For example, the playback state includes “normal playback”, “fast forward”, “slow playback”, “pause”, “stop”, and the like. “Pause” and “stop” are states in which playback is stopped, but are included in the concept of one viewing section. In the “transmitted flag”, a transmitted flag for identifying whether or not the recorded program viewing information has been transmitted has been set mainly for preventing double transmission.
[Viewing information registration process]
FIG. 10 is a flowchart showing a specific procedure of viewing information registration processing by the viewing information storage server 120 according to the present embodiment.
The viewing information storage server 120 always waits for reception of viewing information. When the viewing information receiving unit 322 receives viewing information (step S1002), the viewing information registration unit 324 determines that the viewing information is recorded program viewing information. It is determined whether or not (step S1004). For example, the viewing information registration unit 324 determines whether the viewing information is recorded program viewing information based on the flag indicated in the viewing information, the data structure of the viewing information, and the like. .
If it is determined in step S1004 that it is “not recorded program viewing information” (step S1004: NO), the viewing information registration unit 324 registers the viewing information as real-time viewing information in the viewing information database 122 (step S1012). ). Then, the viewing information storage server 120 ends the series of processes shown in FIG.
On the other hand, if it is determined in step S1004 that it is “recorded program viewing information” (step S1004: YES), the viewing information registration unit 324 calculates the actual broadcast time of the program content indicated by the viewing information (step S1006). ) After setting the actual broadcast time to the viewing information (step S1008), the viewing information is registered in the viewing information database 122 as recorded program viewing information (step S1010). Then, the viewing information storage server 120 ends the series of processes shown in FIG. The method for calculating the actual broadcast time is as described with reference to FIG.
The viewing information storage server 120 executes the viewing information registration process shown in FIG. 10 for each viewing information, so that a plurality of viewing information (a plurality of recorded program viewing information and a plurality of real-time viewing information) is converted into the viewing information database 122. Will be accumulated.

Here, only real-time viewing information is extracted.
Next, the rank determining unit 332 counts the number of viewing devices for each channel based on the plurality of television viewing information extracted in step S1102 (step S1104).
Next, the rank determining unit 332 acquires the corresponding program information from the program information database 132 for each channel (step S1106).
Then, the rank determination unit 332 determines the rank of each channel based on the number of viewing devices of each channel obtained in step S1104, and the corresponding program information obtained in step S1106 for each channel. By assigning, the rank of each of the plurality of programs currently broadcast is determined (step S1108).
Then, the rank determining unit 332 generates rank information indicating the rank determined in step S1108 (step S1110), and the viewing ranking server 130 ends the series of processes shown in FIG.

[Second rank information generation process]
FIG. 12 is a flowchart illustrating a specific procedure of rank information generation processing (hereinafter referred to as “second rank information generation processing”) by the viewing ranking server 130 according to the second embodiment. The second rank information generation process is based on the viewing information (real-time viewing information and recorded program viewing information) of a plurality of programs broadcasted at a certain past time point. And generating rank information indicating the rank.
First, the rank determination unit 332 extracts a plurality of pieces of TV viewing information related to programs that have been broadcast at a past time from the viewing information database 122 (step S1202). Here, both real-time viewing information and recorded program viewing information are to be extracted.
Next, the rank determination unit 332 performs, for each channel, the first number of viewing devices based on real-time viewing information and the second based on recorded program viewing information based on the plurality of television viewing information extracted in step S1202. The number of viewing devices is totaled (step S1204).
Next, the rank determination unit 332 acquires corresponding program information from the program information database 132 for each channel (step S1206).
Then, the rank determination unit 332 determines the rank of each channel based on the number of viewing devices (one or both of the first viewing device and the second viewing device) of each channel obtained in step S1204. At the same time, the corresponding program information obtained in step S1206 is assigned to each channel, thereby determining the rank of each of a plurality of programs broadcasted in the past (step S1208).
Then, the rank determining unit 332 generates rank information indicating the rank determined in step S1208 (step S1210), and the viewing ranking server 130 ends the series of processes shown in FIG.
 <実施例3>
<Example 3>
Hereinafter, Example 3 of rank information generation processing by the viewing ranking server 130 according to the present embodiment will be described.
[Third rank information generation processing]
FIG. 13 is a flowchart illustrating a specific procedure of rank information generation processing (hereinafter referred to as “third rank information generation processing”) by the viewing ranking server 130 according to the third embodiment. The third rank information generation process refers to the plurality of programs in the target period based on the viewing information (real-time viewing information) within the target period of a plurality of programs broadcast in a certain target period (for example, one day). This is a process of determining the rank of the program and generating rank information indicating the rank.
(1. First total viewing time calculation)
First, the rank determination unit 332 calculates a first total viewing time that is a total viewing time for real-time viewing for each program that has been broadcast within the target period (step S1302).
Specifically, the “first total viewing time” is the sum of the real-time viewing time of the program by all viewing devices that viewed the program in real time for each program broadcast within the target period. It is. For example, in the above target period, when there are “5” viewing devices watching “10 minutes” of a program and “10” viewing devices watching “5 minutes”, The “first total viewing time” of the program is 100 minutes.
Here, for example, by the first rank information generation process (see FIG. 11), the number of viewing devices of each program has already been calculated every predetermined unit time (for example, every minute), and the number of viewing devices. Is stored in the memory, the total viewing time may be calculated by performing the following procedure for each program.
(1) The number of viewing devices per unit time calculated within the target period is read from the memory. (2) Add up the number of viewing devices per unit time read out in the procedure (1). (3) The value calculated by the procedure (2) is multiplied by the unit time.
(2. Specify the maximum number of viewing devices)
Next, the rank determination unit 332 specifies the maximum number of viewing devices for each program that was broadcast within the target period (step S1304). The “maximum number of viewing devices” is the number of viewing devices when the program is viewed by the largest number of viewing devices within the target period. For example, the rank determination unit 332 calculates or reads out the number of viewing devices per unit time in the target period or reads from the memory for each program broadcasted in the target period, Specified as the “maximum number of viewing devices”.
(3. Broadcast time specification)
Next, the rank determination unit 332 specifies the broadcast time for each program that was broadcast within the target period (step S1306). For example, the rank determination unit 332 can identify the broadcast time by referring to the program information database 132.
(4. Total data storage)
The rank determination unit 332 uses the first total viewing time calculated in step S1302, the maximum number of viewing devices calculated in step S1304, and the broadcast time calculated in step S1306 as the aggregate data of the target period. Save in the memory (step S1308).
(5. Determination of rank)
Then, the rank determination unit 332 determines the ranks of a plurality of programs broadcast within the target period based on the aggregate data (step S1310), and the viewing ranking server 130 performs a series of processes shown in FIG. Exit. The simplest rank determination method is to set a higher rank for a program having a longer first total viewing time, but is not limited thereto.
 <実施例4>
<Example 4>
Hereinafter, Example 4 of rank information generation processing by the viewing ranking server 130 according to the present embodiment will be described.
[Fourth rank information generation process]
FIG. 14 is a flowchart illustrating a specific procedure of rank information generation processing (hereinafter referred to as “fourth rank information generation processing”) by the viewing ranking server 130 according to the fourth embodiment. The fourth rank information generation process is based on viewing information (both real-time viewing information and recorded program viewing information) of a plurality of programs broadcast during a certain target period (for example, one day). This is processing for determining ranks of the plurality of programs and generating rank information indicating the ranks. That is, the fourth rank information generation process differs from the third rank information generation process (see FIG. 13) in that the target viewing information is both real-time viewing information and recorded program viewing information. .
(1. First total viewing time calculation)
First, the rank determination unit 332 calculates a first total viewing time that is a total viewing time for real-time viewing for each program that has been broadcast within the target period (step S1402). The first total viewing time calculation method is the same as the third rank information generation process.
(2. Second total viewing time calculation)
Next, the rank determination unit 332 calculates a second total viewing time, which is a total viewing time for recording / playback viewing, for each program broadcast within the target period (step S1404).
Specifically, the “second total viewing time” refers to the total recording / playback viewing time of the program by all viewing devices that recorded / playback / viewed the program for each program broadcast within the target period. It is what.
Accordingly, the rank determination unit 332 reads (1) a plurality of recording / playback viewing information related to the recording / playback viewing of the program from the viewing information database 122 for each program broadcast within the target period, and (2) By adding the viewing times extracted from the recording / playback viewing information, the second total viewing time can be calculated.
(3. Specify the maximum number of viewing devices)
Next, the rank determination unit 332 specifies the maximum number of viewing devices for each program that was broadcast within the target period (step S1406).
(4. Broadcast time specification)
Next, the rank determination unit 332 identifies the broadcast time for each program that was broadcast within the target period (step S1408).
(5. Total data storage)
The rank determination unit 332 calculates the first total viewing time calculated in step S1402, the second total viewing time calculated in step S1404, the maximum number of viewing devices calculated in step S1406, and the step S1408. The broadcast time is stored in the memory as total data for the target period (step S1410).
(6. Rank determination)
Then, the rank determination unit 332 determines the ranks of a plurality of programs broadcast within the target period based on the aggregate data (step S1412), and the viewing ranking server 130 performs a series of processes shown in FIG. Exit. The simplest rank determination method is to set a higher ranking for a program having a larger total time of the first total viewing time and the second total viewing time, but is not limited thereto. For example, the rank may be determined based only on the first total viewing time, or the rank may be determined based only on the second total viewing time.
It should be noted that after the counting process is performed, the program within the target period may be viewed and the second total viewing time of the program may be substantially increased. Therefore, it is preferable that the viewing ranking server 130 executes the aggregation processing periodically (for example, every predetermined period) and updates the aggregation data each time. Thereby, since the viewing ranking server 130 can always keep the above-mentioned total data in the latest state, it is possible to provide more reliable rank information.
When generating aggregate data for the second and subsequent times for the same target period, an increase from the aggregate data at the previous generation (that is, recording / playback viewing information added to the viewing information database 122 since the previous generation). (Viewing time) is added to the total data at the time of previous generation, so that the second and subsequent generation processing of the total data can be simplified.
Furthermore, it is preferable that the total data includes the identification information of the viewing device that viewed the program for each program broadcast within the target period. Accordingly, the rank determination unit 332 can exclude the second and subsequent recorded program viewing information from the same viewing device from the second total viewing time calculation process.
[Specific examples of recording / playback viewing information]
FIG. 15 shows a specific example of the recording / playback viewing information generated in the television 10 according to the present embodiment. The recording / playback viewing information group illustrated in FIG. 15 includes a plurality of recorded program viewing information for each viewing section (for each playback state) related to viewing the recorded program of the same program content on the television 10.
Here, in the plurality of recorded program viewing information, “Broadcasting station information” and “Recording start time” are set to the same value (“Teito TV” and “2012/7/24 19:00”). ing. Thereby, it can be seen that the plurality of recorded program viewing information are related to the same program content.
Each recorded program viewing information is provided with a “reproduction time”, and in the “reproduction time”, the start position of the viewing section starts from the beginning of the recorded program (“0:00:00”). Shown by the time of.
Each recorded program viewing information is provided with a “reproduction state”, and the “reproduction state” indicates the reproduction state of the viewing section. In the example shown in FIG. 15, “normal playback”, “fast forward”, “pause”, or “stop” is set in the “playback state”.
Each recorded program viewing information is provided with a “transmitted flag”, and the “transmitted flag” indicates “completed” indicating that transmission has been completed, or indicates that transmission has not been performed. "Not yet" is set. As a result, the television 10 can prevent re-transmission of the recorded recording / playback viewing information that has already been transmitted, even if the recorded recording / playback viewing information remains in the memory.
[Specific examples of viewing information stored in viewing information database 122]
FIG. 16 shows a specific example of the viewing information stored in the viewing information database 122 according to the present embodiment. As shown in FIG. 16, viewing information for each viewing section transmitted from a plurality of viewing devices is registered in the viewing information database 122. In the viewing information database 122, both recorded program viewing information and real-time viewing information are registered.
In the viewing information database 122, each viewing information includes “viewing state supplement”, and the recorded program viewing information is recorded in “viewing state supplement”, so that it is easy to be recorded program viewing information. It is possible to discriminate between.
In the viewing information database 122, each viewing information includes “TV ID”, “start time”, “end time”, and “viewing content”. In the “TV ID”, the identification information of the viewing device where the program related to the viewing information is viewed is set. The “start time” is set to the actual broadcast start time of the viewing section regardless of whether the viewing information is recorded program viewing information or real-time viewing information. Similarly, the actual broadcast end time of the viewing section is set as the “end time” regardless of whether the viewing information is recorded program viewing information or real-time viewing information. In the “viewing contents”, a broadcasting station name is set. Since each piece of viewing information includes such information, the viewing device, program content, and viewing section can be specified.
In the case of recorded program viewing information, the value set for the “start time” is obtained by adding “reproduction time” to “recording start time” included in the recorded program viewing information transmitted from the viewing device. Can be obtained. On the other hand, the value set for the “end time” can be obtained by adding the “reproduction time” included in the next recorded program viewing information to the “recording start time”.
