Abstract

An electronic directory and advertising telephone ("IBD") includes a wireless telephone handset Fig.1/(5), a display LCD colored screen 8.9 inch Fig. 1/(1), a keyboard Fig. 1/(4), removable memory media reader Fig. 1/(2). The removable memory media Fig. 1/(2) preferably includes telephone listings and advertisements, is registered for use with a particular IPD phone applications and guides, and is replaced every year or updated on the built in hard disk daily. The advertisements include graphical displays, Text or pictures, which are scheduled to appear on the display monitor Fig. 1/(1) during predetermined calendar dates. Advertisements are linked to telephone listings, and appear when linked a telephone listing is connected to the IBD directory server. A n activation code is stored on the IBD, and each year a new IBD activation code must be entered to activate the requested application and interface. The IBD also includes functions for games - a 10 years calendar, Agenda, and displaying prayer timing - weather - Stock market screen - and directions toward Qa'aba in Mecca.

Technical field:

The present invention relates in general to telecommunication devices and mini laptops and in particular to a telephone unit having an international & local and local directory and displays advertising materials along with the capacity of sending landline SMS and provided with internet and local networking applications and interfaces.

Background Art:

The preceding technology to this new invention is different. There are advanced phones, and there are small laptops, but there wasn't a home phone that runs a group of integrated tasks and services in many fields and through the connection to a private network. This is due to the integration of many available technologies in the land line communications and the small laptops capabilities the fathers of this invention in one device, with more unprecedented capabilities than the original technologies.

Drawback in the current devices:

There wasn't a landline phones that can display the colored still or movie images or films multimedia, nor can send SMS directly through the landline not via the internet. The storage capabilities of landlines phones are very limited. They are not any applications and screens that can display images nor upgrading the previously stored International Business Directories. They can not display the updated market offers in a high quality colored screens. Most of these tasks were only available in the small laptops or computers, separately not combined in one phone device to perform all these tasks. The capabilities of this new invention forego the current phone and small laptop devices and allow more functions and tasks be done than what any one of them can do.

Disclosure Of Invention:

This invention can serve various fields of business and personal usage as TV commercial ads, business men, electronic business directory, agenda and personal directory, privacy protection as every user has his user name and PW along with server protection and shut down code it also provides landline SMS service and internet services as mail and exploring with many other interfaces to provide weather, food delivery, multimedia broadcasting, news, IP address, e-mail, keyword search in personal and business directories, local net work connection through free SMS messaging. It's also provided with a Bluetooth and LAN line plus G3 connection through Data SIM card modem plus built-in VOIP call card.

The new in this invention:

This device with its high technology and big data storage allows it to deal with the internet applications and provides updatable Business and Personal directories, with easier communication, displaying all multimedia applications on an advanced screen. The device completely integrates and executes the computer and laptop capabilities with phone capabilities

For the first time we will have a phone with a direct internet connection unit either by Data SIM or ADSL modem, and with operational memory that allows many functions simultaneously. That is beside the fixed storage hard disk to store Personal and business directories, browsing and searching using specific applications working under Linux and a special network for the country users which makes them in contact with a central server. This server automatically updates the software for each user device. It also provides the user an e-mail address and allows surfing through the internet. It also provides other application will be explained later in this document.

^■ An 8.9 inch touch flat screen to display all kind of images; fixed and movie; either from the HD or the internet. It can also be used to display the images from any connected TV set. It is a touch screen for all the device applications.

^■ The screen displays the SMS and movies and commercials using a special software in a bottom bar in all interfaces.

^■ It has controllable loud speakers for direct listening in case of having audio or video-audio files. The sound will automatically stop in case the phone rings.

■ The software is totally controllable by touch which helps in internet surfing and directory search, yet the connection is not allowed through touch screen. - Wireless handset

^■ The traditional phone concept is kept as is, but a wireless headset and Bluetooth were added to facilitate movement and working with the new invented device - Modified Keyboard

^■ The device has a customized keyboard to enable connection and search in the attached directories and the contacts folders. It has special keys for searching and modifying by using the software.

4- Landline phone

■ In the existence of the conventional landline connection the device uses a normal phone connected to the landline to enable the conventional phone communication, but a fax modem is added to provide the fax and internet connection services as an additional medium in case a permanent network or Ethernet are not available.

^■ The phone is capable of storing incoming, outgoing and missed call numbers by date and time. It also can record the voice mail, volume control, speed calls and can control the phone accuracy.

^■ The device is also provided with a date book to set dates and reminders

^■ The set is protected against theft and each user (owner) will have a name and operating code. The set has a flash button and can automatically auto reply and redial and it has waiting property

5- SD Storage Card reader

^■ Data can be stored and transferred to the set through two ways; one of them is the advanced storage units. Therefore the set has an input for SD storage reader. In case the internet service is not available the SD storage card will be annually replaced and provided with mini system which is compatible with the main set software to guarantee the stored data display and the method of dealing with it through applications.

6- Wireless fax modem

^■ It was necessary to provide the set with a wireless fax modem unit to facilitate the internet connection via phone not ADSL, thus enabling the usage for those who do not have ADSL service. Also it can receive internet signals from other neighboring units in case there is no internal connection.

The fax modem can also receive faxes and store it as image files that can be displayed and printed, and also can be resent. - VOIP card

^■ To facilitate communication through internet websites or server, the set is provided with a VOIP card. The user will only buy an IP call prepaid card, connect directly with a specific web site and dial the code and phone number to make a call and talk through your IBD phone. This part is connected to the set and adjusted through software and OS applications.

^■ The IBD phone also has a unique IP like any other computer through which connection to the server can be executed, contributing to the VOIP service and connecting to other phones in the network.

- Built in DSL Modem - external splitter

^■ The set has a built in modem with land line input to provide ADSL connection 24/7 with the server. So the set can be daily updated, and provided with all services and functions via the serving server, thus set will be protected against the direct connection to the internet and in same time the privacy it totally protected. The owner (user) can manage his account using his private code activate or adjust any needed service.

- Short Messaging Service SMS

^■ The set is provided with a special device for sending SMS. This device transforms the text into a form that can be sent through the landline and directly received in any other set in the network or any other mobile using the prepaid cards. There is a permanent bar in the bottom of the screen to display the incoming SMS and sending as well.

0- GSM SIM card reader ^■ The set can provide the internet service through the GSM network in case that the ADSL or Ethernet connections are not available. Thus the set will constantly be able to be connected to the server and gets the applications updates.

- Internal Hard disk

^■ Every set will have a storage unit on the board with 15 GB with Linux OS and other application for Directories and other services. lso stores the owner (user) personal directory in accessible files. - Processor, memory

^■ As any computer, the mother board has 4/2 mega cash processor unit, a cooler and at least 1 GB RAM.

- Modified Motherboard

^■ A small modified laptop MB, the set has its small mother board with additional input and output terminals for the previously mentioned cards. The mother board is of the mini size to suit the new set. Fig. No. 2 and 3. - Main Server

^■ This server is administrating all the International Business Phone units and all the functions and services are done. As follows: Fig. No. 5

^■ Internet surfing and user numerical email number@ibdphone.com

^■ Phone connections to similar IP phones on network with the server (network) through the big storage units, and admin control, as the server stores all the IP incoming calls and connects them on demand. ■ The server daily data updates to the connected IBP Phones.

■ It can control the connected sets applications and control broadcasted materials, and it can activate or deactivate applications on user demand.

■ The server controls the screen saver that is broadcasted through the network or users. It also allows navigating the business email as admin of the group.

■ It manages & controls broadcasting the free SMS messages

between the network units.

■ Linux is a free operating system that all the units' applications of the system work under it.

TV signal input terminal with the ability to display it on the screen to follow and watch preferred programs and events.

Software Operating system and applications

The software applications can be divided into sections; all working under Linux to serve 3 purposes:

1- Communications from all kinds, internet through the phone. The main interface, the browser, contains windows that the user choose from by moving page up & page down arrows and clicking to inter the selected applications (screen (1)) 2- Information: the search and surfing through the saved files on HD or SD storage card

3- Multimedia: it is about broadcasting commercials, movies or still images plus audio and video materials.

First Communications:

The communication screens (windows) provide many services. It saves contacts displaying the incoming number, time of the call. It also records all the incoming and missed calls and allows sending free SMS using the landline and the server between all the system networks. These messages are displayed on a bar located at the bottom of the screen. It also provides IM, calendar, network email. These applications provide services entertainment and games programs. Also, there are calculator, Hijri and Gregorian 10 calendar for 10 years. In addition it provides international and local time and Islamic applications like determining the Qebla in some major international cities, prayer times and reminder, Quran. Other services like food delivery, notebook is also provided as it is shown on the following communication screen shapes.

Call log which is controlled by arrows to choose the type of classification to display. The first tab displays all the calls by time. The next tab displays the received or answered calls. The third tab displays the dialed calls with time and duration where the fourth tab displays the missed calls an the called ID so that the user can follow

This application covers the international business directory searches that is classified according to profession, alphabetical, and the keyword or product search.

It also shows companies ads with the ability to contact them directly by pushing call button those screens are to show all directory services and provides you their web log through the Internet connection and through the units connection it receives all the updated new ads, news, weather broadcast, also every user is provided a commercial email with the extension ibdphone.com with a huge storage capacity. number@ibdphone.com.

Third Network - Server is able to send pictures of specific resolution to all or some phones at once, to be displayed on screen saver or stored on phone (SD) card. - Server enables user of this special phone only to read from server His e-mail or other displayed information. - Server will NOT allow any entry for those who are not using our IBD Phone. - Server is able to download to phone any future up date of software. - Server is able to send text message to all or same phones at once to be displayed on (SMS - Bar) at bottom of phone screen. - Server is able to shut down all phone functions at any time, when needed. - Server is able to store all (IP - Address for all phones). Also able to select from those (IP - Addresses) the targeted ones. - Server is able to accept from end user a pre-paid cash card to allow him an input of text message to be passed to all phones by server. - Server is able to communicate with all phones through land line internet and wireless. 0- Server has one deactivated link which can be activated in future when downloading additional software to server which can be a part of server software to provide a new service. 1- Server is able to accept prepaid cash cards to allow text message to be displayed on server only. - Server communicates with another special designed server unit which accepts one internet landline and gives out (500) lines to (500) phones. - Server is able to send order to all or some phones to delete a certain entry which had been stored on (SD) card or hard disk and also replaced it with a new one. - Server is able to send order to all or some phones to delete a picture running on screen saver and replace it with new one also this applies to text message on (SMS - Bar). - Server allows phone user to download any information into phone & store it on (SD) card or hard disk able to display it up-on his request at anytime. - Server allows direct restaurants booking and flight booking as well. - Server is able to order phone to down load many types of orders such as: a- Down load a certain picture and add it to screen saver. b- Down load a text message and add it to (SMS - Bar). c- Down load a certain text file or picture and store in storage units. d- Delete any of the above at any time. e- Download & replace text file or picture with new received ones whether in (SD) card or SMS Bar or screen saver. f- Down load a certain text file containing a (number of pictures) and add to a built-in memory, where user can touch an icon on LCD and read information from that built-in memory.

Those services provide the user and all network members a chance to use the network to broadcast their own ads in various media materials (movie - text or pictures) and also navigate through video files, audio files, and Picture files and follow up new market offers through the screen saver ads published by server.

They are also provided with SMS landline service and free network SMS services along with a prepaid service from the phone to all mobile phones.
