Description

Image display system
The present invention relates to an image display system that displays moving image content or still image content, and more particularly, to an image display technology that displays a plurality of thumbnail images to search for a desired scene or a desired image.
DVD(Digital Versatile Disc)プレーヤやBD(Blu-ray Disc)ブレーヤなどのコンテンツ再生装置で映像を再生しているときに早送りや早戻しの操作を行って、目的のシーンを探すことがある。 When a video is being played on a content playback device such as a DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) player or a BD (Blu-ray Disc) player, a fast-forward or fast-reverse operation may be performed to find a target scene. In such a case, since the user can only view the video at the time of scanning, the user may go too far from the target scene and miss the target scene.
In this regard, Patent Document 1 displays thumbnail images for three images below the screen on which still images and moving images being reproduced are displayed, and moves the thumbnail images one frame at a time every predetermined time. An image reproduction method that makes it easy to find a desired image during fast forward and fast reverse operations is disclosed.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration of an image display system 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The image display system 10 includes a playback device 1 that plays back moving image content, a remote controller 2 that remotely controls the playback device 1, and a display device 3 that displays the moving image content played back by the playback device 2. The image display system 10 is characterized by content display during fast forward or fast reverse (hereinafter referred to as fast forward or fast reverse display). That is, when an instruction for fast-forward or fast-reverse is given during playback of moving image content, the image display system 10 displays a plurality of scenes (current, past, and future) centered on the playback time point below the playback screen of the display device 3. In addition to displaying a list of thumbnail images (reduced still images) of scenes, the plurality of thumbnail images are updated and displayed at predetermined update intervals to perform fast forward or fast reverse display. The speed of fast-forward or fast-reverse display at this time (specifically, the time interval between adjacent thumbnail images and the update interval of each thumbnail image. Hereinafter, the time interval between adjacent thumbnail images is T1, The update interval of the thumbnail image is expressed as T2) is flexibly adjusted according to the operation amount of the operation amount detection device 21 (described later in detail) provided in the remote controller 2.
FIG. 2A shows a display screen of the display device 3 when the image display system 10 performs fast forward or fast reverse display. On the display screen, a still image 31 of the scene at the time of playback is displayed, and a plurality of thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, and 61 to 63 are displayed in the thumbnail area 32 that appears at the bottom of the display screen. In the present embodiment, seven thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, and 61 to 63 are displayed along the horizontal direction of the display screen.
Here, the thumbnail image 51 is a thumbnail image (still image having the same content as the still image 31) of the scene (frame image) at the time of reproduction, and the other thumbnail images 41 to 43 and 61 to 63 are located at the center of the thumbnail area 32. Is displayed in a larger image. The thumbnail images 41 to 43 are thumbnail images of scenes (frame images) that are past the playback time point, and are displayed on the left side of the thumbnail image 51. The further to the left, the farther away from the playback point, the more past the scene. On the other hand, the thumbnail images 61 to 63 are thumbnail images of scenes (frame images) that are future than the playback point, and are displayed on the right side of the thumbnail image 51. The further to the right, the farther away from the playback point, the more future scenes will be. In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2A, the thumbnail images 41 to 43 and the thumbnail images 61 to 63 are displayed as images of the same size, but in FIG. As shown in FIG. 2, thumbnail images 61 to 63 are displayed slightly larger than thumbnail images 41 to 43 in the case of fast forward display, and thumbnail images 41 to 43 are displayed in the case of fast return display as shown in FIG. The thumbnail images 61 to 63 may be displayed slightly larger.
As described above, the left-right direction of the thumbnail area 32 is a time axis indicating the reproduction direction of the moving image content, and the scene changes from the past, the present, and the future from the left to the right. In the present embodiment, the time interval T1 between adjacent thumbnail images in the plurality of thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 shown in FIG. The value is determined by the fast-forward or fast-rewind operation content instructed from the remote controller 2.
Then, the image contents of such thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 are updated as needed at a predetermined update interval T2 (for example, 0.5 seconds), so that the thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61-63 are displayed as fast forward or fast reverse. Specifically, in the case of fast-forward display, at each update interval T2, the playback time point is advanced to the future by the time interval T1, and a plurality of thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 are displayed around the advanced playback time point. The created thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, and 61 to 63 are displayed. In the case of fast-reverse display, the playback time point is returned to the past by the time interval T1 at each update interval T2, and a plurality of thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 are displayed around the returned playback time point. The created thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, and 61 to 63 are displayed. As a result, in the case of fast-forward display, the thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 displayed in the thumbnail area 32 are updated to images that are later than the playback point at any time. Further, in the case of fast reverse display, the thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, and 61 to 63 displayed in the thumbnail area 32 are updated to images that are earlier than the playback point at any time. The value of the update interval T2 is also determined by the fast forward or fast reverse operation content instructed from the remote controller 2.
Since the image display system 10 has a feature in the fast-forward or fast-reverse display function as described above, the fast-forward or fast-reverse display function of the image display system 10 will be described in detail below.
FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram showing the external appearance of the remote controller 2 and the operation amount detection device 21 provided in the remote controller 2. As shown in FIG. 3, the remote controller 2 includes an operation amount detection device 21 at the approximate center of the surface thereof. A scale (for example, 0, 127, -128, etc.) shown below the operation amount detection device 21 indicates a digital value corresponding to the horizontal movement amount detected by the operation amount detection device 21. These are the values of digitized movement amount data, which will be described later.
The operation amount detection device 21 includes an operation unit 201 that can slide in the left-right direction and has a return force with respect to the return position (origin) P. The operation amount detection device 21 is a device that outputs an analog value corresponding to the movement amount from the return position P of the operation unit 201. For example, when the movement amount is detected by a variable resistor, the movement amount is set as a voltage value. Output.
When the operation unit 201 of the operation amount detection device 21 is operated rightward from the return position P (to be exact, the remote control 2 has a movement amount data value of 10 to 127 at the center of the operation unit 201, which will be described later. When the slide unit 201 is operated in the left direction from the return position P (more precisely, the value of the movement amount data described later is −128 to −10). When the position is within the range, the playback device 1 is instructed to fast reverse. In the present embodiment, the fast-forward or fast-reverse speed is set to increase as the movement amount of the operation unit 201 from the return position P increases.
In addition, the remote controller 2 reproduces when the operation unit 201 is in the vicinity of the return position P (when the center of the operation unit 201 is positioned in a range in which a movement amount data value described later becomes −9 to 9). The apparatus 1 is instructed to reproduce. Note that the operation unit 201 that has moved in the left-right direction from the return position P has a return force to the return position P, and therefore automatically returns to the return position P when the hand that touched the operation unit 201 is released. It is like that. That is, when the hand is released from the operation unit 201, the remote controller 2 instructs the playback device 1 to play back.
As described above, in the present embodiment, the fast-forward or fast-reverse speed can be adjusted by sliding the operation unit 201 of the operation amount detection device 21 provided in the remote controller 2 in the left-right direction. While viewing the thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51 and 61 to 63, the fast-forward or fast-reverse speed can be easily adjusted.
FIG. 4 is a functional configuration diagram of the remote controller 2 and the playback device 1. As shown in FIG. 4, the remote controller 2 includes an operation amount detection device 21, an A / D conversion unit 22, a control code table 23, a control code determination unit 24, and a control code transmission unit 25.
The operation amount detection device 21 detects the position of the slide unit 201 and outputs the detected position to the A / D conversion unit 22 as analog value position data. The position data here refers to the value of the operation direction of the slide unit 201 (whether it has been operated to the left or to the right of the origin P) and the operation amount (how far from the origin P it has been operated). ).
The A / D conversion unit 22 digitally converts the analog position data output from the operation amount detection device 21 and outputs the digital position data to the control code determination unit 24. In the present embodiment, since an 8-bit A / D converter is used as the A / D converter 22, a value in the range of −128 to 127 can be obtained as a digital value (see FIG. 3).
The control code table 23 is a data table that stores the digitally converted position data value and the control code in association with each other, and is referred to when the digitally converted position data value is converted into a control code. FIG. 5 shows a control code table 23 used in the present embodiment.
Specifically, the control codes shown in FIG. 5 are codes indicating fast forward, fast reverse, or reproduction. FF1 to FF10 are control codes indicating fast forward, PLAY is a control code indicating reproduction, and REW1 to 10 are codes. This is a control code indicating fast rewind. As described above, the control code table 23 according to the present embodiment manages the fast-forward and fast-reverse speeds in 10 stages. The control code having a larger number after FF or REW has a fast-forward or fast-reverse speed. Shows that it will be faster.
In the present embodiment, the control code is not assigned by dividing the interval between −128 and 127 at equal intervals, but the range of the position data to be assigned becomes wider as the speed of fast forward or fast reverse becomes lower. For example, 10 to 31 (number range is 22) for FF1, 50 to 65 (number range is 16) for FF3, 90 to 98 (number range is 9) for FF6, 120 to 127 (number range is 8) for FF10. is there. This is because when fast-forwarding or fast-rewinding operation is performed, accuracy at speed is obtained at low speed rather than at high speed, so the range of position data at low speed is widened to improve operability at low speed. It is intended to improve.
The control code determination unit 24 determines a control code to be transmitted to the playback device 1 based on the position data output from the A / D conversion unit 22 and the control code table 23. That is, the control code determination unit 24 refers to the control code table 23 and acquires a control code corresponding to the value of the position data output from the A / D conversion unit 22, whereby the value of the position data is controlled by the control code. It is supposed to convert to. For example, when the value of the position data output from the A / D conversion unit 22 is 40, the control code determination unit 23 determines the control code “FF2”.
When the control code changes from a control code indicating fast-forward or fast-reverse to a control code indicating reproduction, the control code determination unit 24 waits for a predetermined waiting time (for example, 500 milliseconds), If there is no change in the control code (if the control code does not change to fast-forward or fast-reverse), the control code is determined to be a control code indicating reproduction. This is because when the user's operation shifts from fast-forward to fast-reverse or from fast-reverse to fast-forward, the origin P is passed in the middle of the operation. In such a case, a reproduction instruction is given. This is to prevent it from occurring.
The control code transmission unit 25 transmits the control code determined by the control code determination unit 24 to the playback device 1 via wireless communication. In the present embodiment, infrared communication is used for wireless communication, but other communication methods, for example, RF (Radio Frequency) communication may be used.
なお、再生装置1としては、例えば、具体的には、BD(Blu-ray Disc)プレーヤ、BDレコーダ、DVD(Digital Versatile Disc)プレーヤ、DVDレコーダ、HDD(Hard Disk Drive)レコーダなどが想定される。 Meanwhile, as shown in FIG. 4, the playback device 1 includes a control code receiving unit 11, a control content table 12, a control content determining unit 13, an image data creating unit 14, and an image data output unit 15. As the playback device 1, for example, a BD (Blu-ray Disc) player, a BD recorder, a DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) player, a DVD recorder, an HDD (Hard Disk Drive) recorder, and the like are specifically assumed. .
The control code receiving unit 11 receives the control code transmitted from the remote controller 2 and outputs the received control code to the control content determining unit 13.
The control content table 12 is a data table that stores the control code and the control content of the thumbnail image displayed on the display device 3 in association with each other. Here, the control content of the thumbnail image is a value indicating the fast forward or fast reverse speed. Specifically, the thumbnail image is adjacent to each other in the plurality of thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, and 61 to 63 displayed in the thumbnail area 32. The time interval T1 between the thumbnail images to be displayed and the update interval (refresh rate) T2 of the thumbnail image thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 are shown. FIG. 6 shows a control content table 12 used in the present embodiment.
In the control content table 12 shown in FIG. 6, at low speeds (FF1 to FF5, REW1 to REW5), the time interval T1 is constant (1 second), and the update interval T2 is shortened as the speed is increased. That is, in the present embodiment, at low speeds (FF1 to FF5, REW1 to REW5), the frame interval of each thumbnail image 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 is increased by shortening the update interval T2. ing. On the other hand, in the control content table 12, at high speeds (FF6 to FF10, REW6 to REW10), the time interval T1 is lengthened and the update interval T2 is shortened as the speed increases. That is, at high speed (FF6 to FF10, REW6 to REW10), the frame interval speed of each of the thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, and 61 to 63 is increased by increasing the time interval T1 and shortening the update interval T2. Raised.
Based on the control code output from the control code receiving unit 11 and the control content table 12, the control content determination unit 13 displays the control content of the thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, and 61 to 63 displayed on the display device 3. It comes to decide. That is, the control content determination unit 13 refers to the control content table 12, acquires the control content corresponding to the control code output from the control code reception unit 11, and converts the control code into the control content. Yes. For example, when the value of the received control code is “FF3”, the control content determination unit 13 determines the time interval T1 as 1 second and the update interval T2 as 0.2 seconds.
The image data creation unit 14 creates thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 according to the control content of the thumbnail images determined by the control content determination unit 13, and the created thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 The image data including 63 is output to the image data output unit 15. More specifically, seven frame images of the present, the past, and the future centered on the reproduction time point are selected from the frame images constituting the moving image content according to the determined time interval T1, and the selected 7 Thumbnail images corresponding to two frame images are respectively created. In addition, for each determined update interval T2, the playback time point is moved to the future (in the case of fast forward) or the past (in the case of fast reverse) by the time interval T1, and the playback time point that has been moved in accordance with the determined time interval T1 is displayed. The center, present, past, and future seven frame images are selected, and thumbnail images corresponding to the selected seven frame images are respectively created. In addition, a still image 31 at the time of reproduction is created, and image data of a display screen displayed on the display device 3 is created together with the above-described thumbnail image.
In the present embodiment, when the frame image at the time of reproduction is not 00 frames (when a frame image in the middle of 1 second is selected), thumbnails 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 is created. Alternatively, thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 corresponding to 00 frames may be created. For example, if the frame image at the time of reproduction is 5 minutes 31 seconds 15 frames, in this embodiment, a thumbnail image 51 of 5 minutes 31 seconds 15 frames is created, but a thumbnail of 5 minutes 31 seconds 00 frames. The image 51 may be created.
The image data output unit 15 outputs image data including thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 created by the image data creation unit 14 to the display device 3. As the display device 3, for example, specifically, a TV (Television), a monitor, or the like is assumed. In the present embodiment, the playback device 1 and the display device 3 are physically separate devices. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and may be a single device having both functions.
FIG. 7 shows how the display screen displayed on the display device 3 changes when the control code is “FF3”. Note that the still image 31 displayed on the display device 3 is omitted. Further, the times in the thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 are given for explanation in order to identify the image contents of the thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63. It is not actually displayed. For example, the thumbnail image 51 marked “5:30” indicates that it is a thumbnail image for the frame image 5 minutes and 30 seconds after the content start position of the moving image content. Hereinafter, the thumbnail image described as 5:30 in the image will be referred to as a 5:30 thumbnail image.
When the control code is “FF3”, since the time interval T1 is 1 second, for example, when the reproduction time point is 5 minutes 30 seconds, the thumbnail image 51 of 5 minutes 30 seconds, the thumbnail image 41 of 5 minutes 27 seconds, A thumbnail image 42 of 5 minutes and 28 seconds, a thumbnail image 43 of 5 minutes and 29 seconds, a thumbnail image 61 of 5 minutes and 31 seconds, a thumbnail image 62 of 5 minutes and 32 seconds, and a thumbnail image 63 of 5 minutes and 33 seconds are displayed on the display device 3. It is displayed in the thumbnail area 32. When the control code is “FF3”, the update interval T2 is 0.2 seconds. Therefore, when 0.2 seconds have elapsed from the start of thumbnail display when the playback time is 5 minutes and 30 seconds, the playback time is 5 minutes 31 seconds thumbnail image 51, 5 minutes 28 seconds thumbnail image 41, 5 minutes 29 seconds thumbnail image 42, 5 minutes 30 seconds thumbnail image 43, 5 minutes 32 seconds thumbnail image 61 A thumbnail image 62 of 5 minutes 33 seconds and a thumbnail image 63 of 5 minutes 34 seconds are displayed in the thumbnail area 34 of the display device 3.
As described above, when the control code is “FF3”, each thumbnail image is moved to the left by one frame every 0.2 seconds, whereby fast-forward display is performed.
FIG. 8 shows how the thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, and 61 to 63 displayed on the display device 3 change when the control code changes from “FF2” to “FF3” in the middle. In this case, the time interval T1 remains 1 second, but the update interval T2 changes from 0.3 seconds to 0.2 seconds, so that each thumbnail image moves to the left one frame at a time. The speed is further increased from the middle, and fast-forward display is performed.
As described above, according to the image display system 10 of the present embodiment, when fast-forward or fast-reverse display of moving image content is performed, the speed of fast-forward and fast-reverse can be easily changed, and the target scene can be changed. Easy to search.
That is, according to the image display system 10 of the present embodiment, since the remote controller 2 includes the operation amount detection device 21 that can be slid in the left-right direction, the user can display a plurality of thumbnails displayed on the display device 3. While looking at the images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63, the target scene can be searched by changing the speed of fast forward or fast reverse.
For example, when the user sees a plurality of thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51 and 61 to 63 displayed in fast forward at high speed and feels that the target scene is approaching, the operation unit 201 of the operation amount detection device 21 is used. By operating to display fast-forward at a low speed, the target scene can be easily found without excessively going. In addition, even if the target scene is overrun by displaying fast-forward, it is possible to display fast-return only by a slide operation of changing the operation unit 201 of the operation amount detection device 21 from the fast-forward direction to the fast-reverse direction. This makes it easy to switch between fast forward and fast reverse displays.
Further, according to the image display system 10 of the present embodiment, since the seven thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 are displayed, the user can list the current / past / future scenes in time series. It can be seen and it is easy to find the target scene from the flow of the preceding and following scenes.
Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications can be made to the embodiments of the present invention without departing from the gist of the present invention. Such modifications and changes can be made, and those accompanying such modifications and changes are also included in the technical scope of the present invention.
For example, in the above embodiment, the operation amount detection device 21 is a slide-type operation amount detection device that slides in the left-right direction. However, the present invention is not limited to this configuration, and the operation direction and operation amount for the operation amount detection device are detected. Any device can be used as long as it can be used.
For example, a shuttle-type operation amount detection device 21A as shown in FIG. The operation amount detection device 21A includes an operation unit 201A that can be rotated in the left-right direction, and selects fast return or fast forward according to the rotation direction from the return position (origin) P1 of the operation unit 201A, and rotation from the return position P1. The speed of fast reverse or fast forward is adjusted according to the amount. Specifically, fast forward is selected when the operation unit 201A rotates clockwise from the return position P1, and fast reverse is selected when the operation unit 201A rotates counterclockwise from the return position P1, and as the amount of rotation from the return position P1 increases, The fast forward or fast reverse speed is adjusted to be faster.
Alternatively, a seesaw type operation amount detection device 21B as shown in FIG. 9B may be used. The operation amount detection device 21B includes an operation unit 201B in which one end and the other end in the left-right direction sink in the vertical direction centering on the return position P2, and selects fast reverse or fast forward depending on the position in which the operation unit 201B sinks. The speed of fast reverse or fast forward is adjusted according to the amount of sinking. Specifically, when the right end 201BR of the operation unit sinks, fast forward is selected, and when the left end 201BL sinks, fast reverse is selected, and the steady state (also in the playback state, both the right end 201BR and the left end 201BL sink). The speed of fast-forwarding or fast-rewinding is adjusted to increase as the amount of sinking from the (not-ready state) increases.
Also, a joystick type operation amount detection device 21C as shown in FIG. 9C may be used. The operation amount detection device 201C includes an operation unit 201C that can be tilted in the left-right direction. The operation amount detection device 201C is tilted from the steady state of the operation unit 201C (which is also a reproduction state and the operation unit 201 faces vertically upward). The fast reverse or fast forward is selected depending on the direction, and the fast reverse or fast forward speed is adjusted by the tilt angle from the steady state. Specifically, when the operation unit 201C is tilted to the right from the steady state, fast forward is selected, and when the operation unit 201C is tilted to the left, fast reverse is selected, and the tilt angle from the steady state is The faster the fast-forward or fast-reverse speed, the higher the speed.
Note that the operation amount detection devices 21A, B, and C described above all have a return force to the return position (steady state), so that they return to the return position (steady state) when they are released. ing.
Also, the operation amount detection device may be a pressure detection device that detects pressure as an operation amount. Also in this case, the pressure detection device has a configuration capable of detecting the operation direction (selection of fast-forward or fast-reverse) and the operation amount (pressure magnitude), for example, a configuration as shown in FIG. The selection of one end or the other end in the left-right direction corresponds to the selection of fast-forward or fast-reverse, and the magnitude of the pressure detected by one end and the other end in the left-right direction determines the speed of fast-forward or fast-reverse. May be. Further, buttons corresponding to fast-forward or fast-reverse may be provided, and the fast-forward or fast-reverse speed may be determined according to the magnitude of pressure detected by each button.
In the above embodiment, the control content is determined using the control content table 12 shown in FIG. 6, but the control content of the control content table 12 is not limited to this. For example, a control content table 12A as shown in FIG. 10 may be used, or a control content table 12B as shown in FIG. 11 may be used. Note that the control content tables 12A and 12B shown in FIGS. 10 and 11 describe only the control content at the time of fast-forwarding.
The control content table 12A shown in FIG. 10 shows a case where the time interval T1 is constant (1 second) regardless of the fast-forwarding speed, and the update interval T2 becomes shorter as the speed increases. Further, the control content table 12B shown in FIG. 11 schematically shows a case where the time interval T1 doubles and widens and the update interval T2 becomes shorter as the fast-forward speed increases. In this way, the contents of the control content table 12 can be set in various ways.
In the above embodiment, seven thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 are displayed in the thumbnail area 32, and the thumbnail image 51 of the scene at the playback time is displayed at the center. The display position of the thumbnail image 51 is not limited to this.
For example, as shown in FIG. 12, at the time of fast-forwarding, a thumbnail image 51 of a scene at the time of playback is arranged at the left end of the thumbnail area 32, and thumbnail images 61 to 61 of future scenes from the playback time are displayed on the right side of the thumbnail image 51. 66 may be arranged. In this case, since many (six) thumbnails of future scenes are displayed, it becomes easier to search for future scenes than at the time of playback. Similarly, at the time of fast return, the thumbnail image 51 of the scene at the time of playback is arranged at the right end of the thumbnail area 32, and the thumbnail images 41 to 46 of scenes before the playback time are arranged on the left side of the thumbnail image 51. You may do it. In this case, since many (six) thumbnails of past scenes are displayed, it becomes easier to search for past scenes than at the time of playback.
As shown in FIG. 13, the position of the thumbnail image 51 of the scene at the time of playback may be changed according to the fast forward or fast reverse speed. That is, as the fast-forward speed increases, the thumbnail image 51 of the scene at the time of reproduction may be gradually moved from the center of the thumbnail area 32 toward the left end. For example, when the control code is FF1, the thumbnail image 51 arranged at the center is arranged at the third position from the left when the control code is FF2 to FF4, and from the left when the control code is FF5 to FF7. When the control code is FF8 to FF10, it is arranged at the leftmost position. Similarly, the thumbnail image 51 of the scene at the time of playback may be gradually moved from the center of the thumbnail area 32 toward the right end as the fast reverse speed increases. For example, when the control code is REW1, the thumbnail image 51 arranged at the center is arranged at the third position from the right when the control code is REW2 to REW4, and from the right when the control code is REW5 to REW7. When the control code is REW8 to REW10, it is arranged at the rightmost position.
In this case, as a matter of course, as the arrangement position of the thumbnail images 51 changes, the number of thumbnail images of future or past scenes also changes. That is, in the case of fast-forward display, as the speed is increased, the number of thumbnail images of future scenes increases and the number of thumbnail images of past scenes decreases. Similarly, in the case of fast reverse display, the thumbnail images of past scenes increase and the thumbnail images of future scenes decrease as the fast reverse speed is increased.
Although the image display system 10 of the above embodiment displays seven thumbnail images in the thumbnail area 32, the number of thumbnail images displayed in the thumbnail area 32 is not limited to this. For example, five thumbnail images may be displayed in the thumbnail area 32. In this case, in addition to the thumbnail images at the time of reproduction, two past and future thumbnail images are displayed.
In the image display system 10 of the above embodiment, the fast-forward or fast-reverse display function is applied to the scene search of the moving image content, but may be applied to other uses.
For example, the fast-forward or fast-reverse function of the image display system 10 may be applied to chapter search for moving image content. FIG. 14 is a fast-forward or fast-reverse display screen displayed on the display device 3 when the fast-forward or fast-reverse display function of the image display system 10 is applied to chapter search for moving image content.
In this case, a still image 31 of the scene at the time of reproduction is displayed on the display screen, and a plurality of thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 are displayed in the thumbnail area 32. The thumbnail image 51 is a thumbnail image of the scene at the time of reproduction (a still image having the same content as the still image 31). Each of the thumbnail images 41 to 43 is a thumbnail image of the first frame image of the chapter before the playback time point, and is displayed on the left side of the thumbnail image 51. The further to the left, the farther away from the playback point, the more past the scene. On the other hand, the thumbnail images 61 to 63 are thumbnail images of the first frame image of the future chapter from the playback time point, and are displayed on the right side of the thumbnail image 51. The further to the right, the farther away from the playback point, the more future scenes will be.
In this case, the chapter interval T1 (chapter) of adjacent thumbnail images and the update interval T2 (seconds) of thumbnail images are determined based on the operation amount detected by the operation amount detection device 21. Here, as for the chapter interval T1, it is preferable to lengthen the chapter interval T1 and shorten the update interval T2 as the operation amount detected by the operation amount detection device 21 increases. For example, when the operation amount detected by the operation amount detection device 21 is small, thumbnail images of all chapters are displayed with the chapter interval T1 set to 1, and the operation detected by the operation amount detection device 21 is detected. If the amount is large, the chapter interval T1 may be set to 3, and thumbnail images may be displayed every three chapters. FIG. 14 shows a case where the chapter interval T1 is 3. Note that the chapter display in the thumbnail image shown in FIG. 14 is provided for the purpose of identifying the image content of each thumbnail image, and is not actually displayed.
As described above, when the fast-forward or fast-reverse function of the image display system 10 is applied to the chapter search of the moving image content, the user operates the operation amount detection device 21 to change the flow speed of the first scene of the chapter. Since it can be changed flexibly, it becomes easy to find a target chapter.
Further, the fast forward or fast reverse display function of the image display system 10 may be applied to the slide show. FIG. 15 is a fast-forward or fast-reverse display screen displayed on the display device 3 when the fast-forward or fast-reverse display function of the image display system 10 is applied to a photographic image slide show. In the slide show in which a plurality of photographic images are displayed in a predetermined order as described above, when fast-forward or fast-reverse display is performed, the currently reproduced photographic image 31 is displayed on the display screen as shown in FIG. And a plurality of thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 are displayed in the thumbnail area 32. The thumbnail image 51 is a thumbnail image of the photographic image 31 currently being reproduced. The thumbnail images 41 to 43 are thumbnail images of photographic images that have already been displayed, and are displayed on the left side of the thumbnail image 51. The further to the left is the photographic image in the order before the photographic image 31 currently being reproduced. On the other hand, the thumbnail images 61 to 63 are thumbnail images of photographic images to be displayed from now on, and are displayed to the right of the thumbnail image 51. The further to the right, the photographic images are in the order later than the order of the photographic images 31 currently being reproduced.
In this case, the number of adjacent thumbnail images T1 (number) and the thumbnail image update interval T2 (seconds) are determined based on the amount of operation detected by the operation amount detection device 21. Here, as for the sheet number interval T1, it is preferable to lengthen the sheet number interval T1 and shorten the update interval T2 as the operation amount detected by the operation amount detection device 21 increases. For example, when the operation amount detected by the operation amount detection device 21 is small, the number-of-photographs interval T1 is set to 1, and thumbnail images of all the photographic images are displayed without being thinned out. If the detected operation amount is large, the number interval T1 may be set to 3, and two images may be thinned out to display thumbnail images for every three images.
As described above, when the fast forward or fast reverse function of the image display system 10 is applied to the slide show, the user can flexibly change the flow speed of the photographic image by operating the operation amount detection device 21. This makes it easy to search for the desired photographic image.
Further, the fast forward or fast reverse function of the image display system 10 may be applied to the jacket search of the music playback device. FIG. 16 is a fast-forward or fast-reverse display screen displayed on the display device 3 when the fast-forward or fast-reverse display function of the image display system 10 is applied to the jacket search of the music playback device. In this way, in the CD jacket search for displaying a desired music by displaying a plurality of jacket photo images in a predetermined order (for example, artist name order, album title order, etc.), fast forward or fast reverse display is performed. In this case, as shown in FIG. 16, a jacket photo image 31 of the music currently being played is displayed on the display screen, and a plurality of thumbnail images 41 to 43, 51, 61 to 63 are displayed in the thumbnail area 32. Is displayed. The thumbnail image 51 is a thumbnail image of the jacket photo image 31 of the music currently being played. Thumbnail images 41 to 43 are thumbnail images of the jacket photo image in the order before the jacket photo image 31 of the music currently being played back, and are displayed on the left of the thumbnail image 51. The further to the left, the photographic images in the order before the order of the jacket photo images 31 of the music currently being played back. On the other hand, the thumbnail images 61 to 63 are the thumbnail images of the jacket photo images that are later in order than the jacket photo image 31 of the music currently being played back, and are displayed to the right of the thumbnail image 51. As it goes to the right, the jacket photo image is later in sequence than the order of the jacket photo image 31 of the currently playing music.
For example, when the operation amount detected by the operation amount detection device 21 is small, the number interval T1 is set to 1, and thumbnail images of all jacket photo images are displayed without being thinned, and the operation amount detection device If the operation amount detected by 21 is large, the number interval T1 may be set to 3, and two thumbnails may be thinned to display thumbnail images of jacket photo images for every three. When the operation amount detected by the operation amount detection device 21 is the maximum, a thumbnail image of the jacket photo image at the head of each alphabet may be displayed.
As described above, when the fast-forward or fast-reverse function of the image display system 10 is applied to the jacket search of the music playback device, the user operates the operation amount detection device 21 to control the speed at which the jacket photo image flows. Since it can be changed flexibly, it is easy to search for a target jacket photo image.
In FIG. 16, the search target image is a still image (jacket photo image), but may be a moving image. That is, the fast-forward or fast-reverse display function of the image display system 10 may be applied to a video search for displaying a plurality of videos in a predetermined order to search for desired video content.
