Abstract
Disclosed is a prepaid broadcasting receiver and a storage unit for the prepaid broadcasting receiver. The present invention includes a subscription EMM storage unit for generating service subscription information from subscription EMMs and storing the generated service subscription information, the service subscription information comprising at least one piece of information necessary for service subscription for broadcast reception, the subscription EMMs comprising broadcast reception limitation information necessary for initial reception of a CAS-based digital broadcasting, wherein the prepaid broadcasting receiver receives the CAS-based digital broadcasting by using the service subscription information stored in advance in the subscription EMM storage unit. Therefore, the present invention can simplify a complicated procedure during a new subscription to a CAS-based digital broadcasting, radically decrease stand-by time from a subscription to an initial broadcast reception, and employ a bandwidth for broadcast, which was used up for subscription EMMs, for other uses.
