Fig. 1 is a perspective diagram illustrating disassembly of a display device for an electrical appliance according to the embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 2 is a status diagram illustrating a printing principle of a display panel according to the present invention, and Fig. 3 is a side-sectional diagram illustrating constitutional elements of the display device for an electrical appliance according to the embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to Fig. 1, the display device for an electrical appliance is composed of one or a plurality of lighting apparatus 10 disposed in a
predetermined part of the display device, and a display panel 20 which is installed where the lighting apparatus 10 irradiates the light (that is front side of the lighting apparatus).
Herein one or plurality number of lighting apparatus 10 is installed depending on the number of buttons for displaying an operation state, and key buttons of a character board or a keyboard.
The display panel 20 is comprised of a first frame 30 on which signs 60 are formed; a transparent plate 22 formed with a certain thickness, for transmitting light of the lighting apparatus 10; and a second frame 40 installed separately from the first frame 30 with a certain distance by the transparent plate 22, for transmitting light of the lighting apparatus 10 to the first frame
30.
Exemplary materials of the transparent plate 22 include acryl, glass and poly carbon. The first frame 30 is comprised of an indication sign layer 32 on which the signs 60 such as numbers, characters, special characters and symbols formed on the character board or various buttons for setting a mode of electrical appliance are printed; and a reflection layer 34 printed in the same shape as the signs 60, for reflecting light for the halo effect to a background color layer 41 which will later be explained.
The reflection layer 34 is adhered or printed as the same shape as the indication sign layer 32.
The second frame 40 is comprised of a background color layer 41 which is a background of the signs 60; a white layer 42 formed to clearly display a background color of the background color layer 41 ; a shade layer 43 for intercepting light from the lighting apparatus 10 in an area on which the signs 60 are not formed; a reflection layer 44 for increasing brightness of
light by reflecting light from the lighting apparatus 10; a neon layer 45 for adding a color for the neon effect; and a diffusion layer 46 formed on the front surface of the lighting apparatus 10 as the same size as the display panel 22, for diffusing light from the lighting apparatus 10. The background color layer 41, the white layer 42, the shade layer 43 and the reflection layer 44 are shaped as the first frame 30 without the printed signs 60 and are formed slightly larger than the signs 60 of the first frame 30 which leads to form a little gap.
The neon layer 45 is formed between the diffusing layer 46 and the reflection layer 44 as the same shape as the signs 60 for the neon effect. Herein the neon layer 45 is formed large enough to cover the gap between the first frame 30 and the second frame 40.
The reflection layer 44 of the second frame 40 reflects light irradiated from the lighting apparatus 10. The reflected light is reflected back by a circuit board 50 behind the lighting apparatus 10, and transmitted through the second frame 40.
The indication sign layer 32 and the reflection layer 34 of the first frame 30, and the background color layer 41, the white layer 42, the shade layer 43, the reflection layer 44, the neon layer 45 and the diffusion layer 46 of the second frame 40 are formed by using silk printing ink and/or cutting sheet.
Poly vinyl chloride can be used as a material of the cutting sheet. A plastic adhesive can be employed as an adhesive for adhering the cutting sheet.
A method for printing the first frame 30 and the second frame 40 on the display panel 20 of the display device for an electrical appliance will now be
described with reference to Fig. 2 or 3.
Fig. 5 is a flowchart showing sequential steps of a preparation method of the display device for an electrical appliance according to the embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 6a is a flowchart showing sequential steps of a preparation method of the first frame of the display device for an electrical appliance according to the present invention, and Fig. 6b is a flowchart showing sequential steps of a preparation method of the second frame of the display device for an electrical appliance according to the present invention. To prepare the first frame 30, the reflection layer 34 which reflects the generated light from the lighting apparatus 10 to the background color layer 41 of the second frame 40 is printed on the front surface of the transparent plate 22 (SI 10), and the indication sign layer 32 on which the signs 60 visible to the user's eyes are printed is printed transparently or opaquely on the front surface of the reflection layer 34 (S120). To prepare the second frame 40, the background color layer 41 is printed on the rear surface of the transparent plate 22 as the same shape as the signs 60 of the indication sign layer 32 printed on the first frame 30 and slightly larger than the signs 60 of the first frame 30(S210). The white layer 42 is printed on the rear surface of the background color layer 41 (S220). Thereafter, the shade layer 43 for intercepting light from the lighting apparatus 10 in an area in which the signs 60 are not formed is printed (S230), the reflection layer 44 for increasing brightness of light by reflecting light is printed on the rear surface of the shade layer 43 (S240), the neon layer 45 which adds a color to the gap for the neon effect is printed (S250), and the diffusion layer 46 for diffusing light is printed on the rear surface of the neon layer 45 (S260).
The preferred printing method of the layers of the first frame 30 and
the second frame 40 is general screen printing method.
A size of the gap between the first frame 30 and the second frame 40 is varied according to the thickness of the transparent plate 22 and the design of the signs 60. Preferably, the size of the gap is about 1/3 of the thickness of the transparent plate 22.
The first frame 30 and the second frame 40 can be adhered to or printed on the transparent plate 22, preferably in a flat sheet structure.
Preferably a size of the second frame 40 adhered to or printed on the rear surface of the transparent plate 22 is equal to or larger than a size of the first frame 30.
The operation process of the display device for an electrical appliance will now be explained.
When the lighting apparatus 10 is operated by power from the electrical appliance to irradiate light, light is diffused by the diffusion layer 46 of the second frame 40. Part of the diffused light is reflected by the reflection layer 44 and the rest of the diffused light is transmitted through the second frame 40. Light reflected by the reflection layer 44 is reflected back by the circuit board 50 behind the lighting apparatus 10, transmitted through the second frame 40, refracted through the transparent plate 22, and part of the refracted light diffuse through the gap between the first frame 30 and the second frame 40 and rest of light is reflected to the background color layer 41 of the second frame 40 by the reflection layer 34 of the first frame 30. This results in obtaining the halo effect. Accordingly, the signs 60 of the first frame 30 are displayed as if they had a certain thickness in the information.
When the neon layer 45 between the reflection layer 44 and the
diffusion layer 46 of the second frame 40 is colored, the color halo effect can be obtained.
The halo effect can be varied according to the size of the gap. When the indication sign layer 32 of the first frame 30 and the neon layer 45 of the second frame 40 have the same color, the neon effect is obtained.
As the present invention may be embodied in several forms without departing from the spirit or essential characteristics thereof, it should also be understood that the above-described embodiment is not limited by any of the details of the foregoing description, but rather should be construed broadly within its spirit and scope as defined in the appended claims, and therefore all changes and modifications that fall within the metes and bounds of the claims, or equivalences of such metes and bounds are therefore intended to be embraced by the appended claims.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
As described above, in accordance with the present invention, the
• lighting apparatus irradiates light, and the light is emitted through the gap between the first frame and the second frame. The indication sign layer of the first frame and the neon layer of the second frame have the same color to obtain the halo effect and neon effect, so that the flat signs can be displayed in three dimensions. As a result, the display device for electrical appliance is clearly distinguished from the general flat display device, so that the user can easily recognize various signs of the electrical appliance.
