Abstract

This invention consists of two distinct parts. One part is related to the signal transmitted by the TV broadcasting station and the other is related to the reception of that signal.The first part, related to the transmission of the signal from the TV station, implies the addition of new data to the basic signal, analogic or digital, compacted or not. This additional new data consists of the essential elements of a TV commercial, such as: name of the company and/or address, phone number, name of the product, price, conditions, offerings and/or others. The second part, the part which receives that signal with the data, whether being the TV (home) set and/or printer, or peripherals, will have electronic, and/or electro-mechanical devices incorporated, so as to store the received data, and, at the moment desired by the spectator, forward them to be seen on the screen of the TV (home) set and/or printed, on a printer positioned inside or outside of the TV set, and also forwarded through outputs to other peripheral equipment, so as to show the essential information of those commercials of interest.

Description

SYSTEM APPLIED TO THE GENERATION AND RECEPTION OF TV SIGNALS, SO AS TO RECUPERATE ESSENTIAL DATA CONTAINED IN COMMERCIALS.
The high cost of televised commercials is notorious. The goal of this patent of invention, is to reduce the volatility of televised commercials and, while reducing the costs of commercials to the advertisers, simultaneously increment the revenues of TV broadcasting stations, publicity agencies, etc.
It is most usual that spectators see a commercial of their interest, and at that moment, not have at their disposal means to take note of the essential information contained in those commercials.
This invention will permit spectators to recuperate the essential data of those commercials of their interest, so as to see that data later, at their convenient time.
This invention will benefit directly all the sectors of television and services: the TV broadcasting stations, correlated services, media agencies, the consumer - spectator, the payer - advertiser, and the industry.
This invention introduces innovations and changes which will permit :
• Essential elements of a TV commercial be consistently delivered to consumers; • Better cost/benefit ratio for the advertisers;
• time per commercial be reduced and so liberate time for additional commercials, therefore higher revenues for TV broadcasting stations and services;
• Additional revenues occur favoring the manufactures of televisions sets. The application of this invention is related to the treatment and services, of transmission and reception, of television electro-magnetic signals.
This system consists of two distinct parts. One part is related to the transmission of the signal by the TV broadcasting station and the other is related to the reception of that signal at the television (home) set. The application of this patent will require that the TV broadcasting stations introduce in their signals, whether analogic or digital, compacted or not, data initially destined to be seen on the screen of the TV (home) sets at a later time. This data will contain the essential information of the TV commercial such as the name of the company and/or, phone number, address, product, price, offerings and others, as desired by the advertiser, information destined for future recuperation.
The receiving TV (home) set will have electronic and/or Electro-mechanical devices capable of storing that data. Later, at another moment, as desired by the spectator, those essential elements can be retrieved and seen on the spectator's TV screen and/or printed by a printer, located inside or outside the TV set, and the data being able to be sent to other equipment.
Figures 1 and 2 demonstrate the process.
Figure 1, composed by three diagram blocks, illustrates the activities undertaken at the TV broadcasting station. Block 1 indicates the reception by the TV broadcasting station of a commercial, with the essential elements included, produced by a media agency and elaborated in conformance with the specifications determined by the TV broadcasting station. Block 2. The TV broadcasting station verifies the material and makes eventual adjustments that may be needed.
Block 3 indicates the transmission of the signal containing the data, transmitted in a way which, at this stage, does not permit that the data become visible on the screen. Figure 2, composed by five blocks, describes the steps undertaken by the signal, up to the visualisation of the data on the TV screen, or printed, as desired by the spectator.
Block 4 indicates the reception by the TV set of the signal containing the data, data still not visible at this stage. Block 5 indicates the introduction of an electronic and/or Electro-mechanical device, located inside or outside the TV set, to store the essential data of a commercial; device capable of directing this data at a requested moment, either to the screen of the TV, or to a printer located inside the TV or outside, and also directing the data to outputs for other A/V peripherals. Block 6 indicates the reception of the stored data for visualisation on the screen of the TV set.
Block 7 indicates the reception of the stored data to be printed by a printer located inside or outside the TV set.
Block 8 indicates the reception of the signal and it's forwarding to outputs for peripherals such as CD-R, VCR, DVD-R, PC, etc..

Claims

1. System applied to the generation and to the reception of television signals characterising the recuperation of essential data contained in TV commercials. This system is characterised by means of introducing into the signal generated by a TV broadcasting station (figure 1), the essential information of a commercial.
2. System applied to the generation and to the reception of television signals characterising the recuperation of essential data contained in TV commercials. This system is characterised by storing the essential information of a commercial (figure 2), and furthermore, at the criterion of the TV spectator, forward those essential elements to the screen of the TV, or to a printer located either inside or outside of the TV set, and still, forward them to external peripherals.
