Abstract

After one or several users of one or several terminals (TE) have provided lists of multimedia documents selected in servers (SW1- SWI), a central server (SC) optionally assisted by a proxy server (PR) periodically updates each document selected by at least one terminal and stores it. In response to a call from a terminal, updated characteristics of each document from the respective list which have only been updated since the last downloading of the document in the terminal are downloaded by the central server into the terminal so as to consult the updated documents in the terminal.
