Description

MOBILE TELEPHONE HAVING DUAL CALL NUMBER
Technical Field
The present invention relates in general to a mobile telephone having a dual call number, and more particularly to such a mobile telephone which is capable of transmitting and receiving signals by individually using at least two subscriber numbers.
Background Art
Generally, mobile telephones are adapted to provide subscribers with a mobile telephone service at a frequency band of 1.8GHz. Because of the rapid exchange of information, the demand for such mobile telephones is on a gradually increasing trend. Namely, one such mobile telephone has a personal telephone number of a corresponding subscriber, and the subscriber can make or receive a call with the mobile telephone to or from a general telephone or other mobile telephone at any place or time or during his traveling to conveniently and rapidly exchange a message therewith. In this regard, the use of mobile telephones has widely been spread.
However, because such a conventional mobile telephone is designed to have one subscriber number, a corresponding subscriber must separately remember or record respective charges for conversations in the case where he uses the mobile telephone separately according to given purposes, for example, private and business purposes. Further, even though separately remembering or recording the respective conversation charges, the subscriber cannot accurately distinguish them from each other. In order to solve these problems, the subscriber may purchase an additional mobile telephone with an associated subscriber number. However, the purchase of the additional mobile telephone imposes an economic burden on the subscriber and gives the subscriber inconvenience resulting from its separate use from the existing telephone. Disclosure of the Invention
Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a mobile telephone which has at least two subscriber numbers so that it can be used separately
5 according to given purposes such as private and business purposes, resulting in an increase in convenience to the user.
In accordance with the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by a provision of a mobile telephone with a dual call number which includes voice input/output circuits and a speaking circuit for transferring a Q user's voice signal externally and outputting an external voice signal to the user, comprising a unique number storage unit for storing at least two unique numbers for the mobile telephone and selectively outputting at least one of the stored unique numbers; a frequency oscillator for generating a transmission frequency corresponding to a speech band of the mobile telephone at an interval of a 5 predetermined period of time; a mixer for mixing the output unique number from the unique number storage unit with the transmission frequency generated from the frequency oscillator; and an antenna for transmitting an output signal from the mixer to a base station or relay center to register the output unique number from the unique number storage therein. o The mobile telephone further comprises a number selector for selecting at least one of the unique numbers stored in the unique number storage unit.
Preferably, the number selector includes a key input unit for selecting at least one of the unique numbers stored in the unique number storage unit under control of the user; and a central processing unit for reading the unique number 5 selected by the key input unit from the unique number storage unit.
Alternatively, the central processing unit may alternately read two unique numbers from the unique number storage unit when both of them are selected by the key input unit. Brief Description of the Drawings
The above and other objects, features and other advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing the construction of a mobile telephone having a dual call number in accordance with the present invention.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
With reference to Fig. 1, there is shown in block form the construction of a mobile telephone having a dual call number in accordance with the present invention. Generally, upon being powered on by the user, a mobile telephone periodically transmits a pilot channel signal containing its unique number to a remote base station or relay center to register its location therein. The base station or relay center always maintains a pilot channel opened and, upon receiving the pilot channel signal for the location registration over the pilot channel, detects the unique number of the mobile telephone from the received pilot channel signal. Then, the base station or relay center finds a subscriber telephone number of the mobile telephone registered with the detected unique number and registers in the found subscriber telephone number a traffic channel for charging the fee of a telephone call. Noticeably, if the user purchases the mobile telephone and registers the unique number of the mobile telephone in a mobile telecommunications company, then the company assigns the subscriber telephone number to the mobile telephone and, from this point of time, the user can speak over the mobile telephone.
As shown in Fig. 1, the mobile telephone with the dual call number comprises an antenna 50 for transmitting a pilot channel signal containing a unique number of the mobile telephone to a base station or relay center for subscriber location registration therein and transmitting a user's voice signal at a transmission frequency corresponding to a speech band of the mobile telephone when a call connection is made, a unique number storage unit 20 for storing at least two unique numbers for the mobile telephone and selectively outputting at least one of the stored unique numbers to the antenna 50, and a speaking circuit 10 for processing 5 the user's voice signal in a digital coding manner and outputting it to the antenna 50 or receiving an external voice signal through the antenna 50 when the call connection is made, processing the received external voice signal so that it is audible and outputting it to the user. Here, the antenna 50 can receive the external voice signal as well as transmit the user's voice signal. o For the purpose of transmitting the output unique number from the unique number storage unit 20 through the antenna 50, a frequency oscillator 30 and mixer 40 are provided between the antenna 50 and unique number storage unit 20. The frequency oscillator 30 is adapted to generate the transmission frequency corresponding to the speech band of the mobile telephone at an interval of at least 5 three seconds. The mixer 40 is adapted to mix the output unique number from the unique number storage unit 20 with the transmission frequency generated from the frequency oscillator 30. A number selector 60 is connected to the unique number storage unit 20 to select at least one of the unique numbers stored therein under control of the user. The number selector 60 is provided with a key input o unit 80 for selecting at least one of the unique numbers stored in the unique number storage unit 20 under the control of the user, and a central processing unit (CPU) 70 for reading the unique number selected by the key input unit 80 from the unique number storage unit 20. A display 90 is connected to the CPU 70 to provide a visual indication of the unique number selected by the key input unit 80 5 to the user in response to a control signal from the CPU 70. Alternatively, the CPU 70 may alternately read two unique numbers from the unique number storage unit 20 in the case where both of them are selected by the key input unit 80.
The user can register and utilize a desired unique number of the mobile telephone with the dual call number in the base station or relay center according to 0 a given purpose. For example, the user may utilize one of the two unique numbers for a private purpose and the other for another purpose such as business. In this case, a mobile telecommunications company charges the fees of telephone calls for the private and business purposes separately from each other.
Industrial Applicability
As apparent from the above description, the present invention provides a mobile telephone which has at least two unique numbers so that it can be used separately according to given purposes such as private and business purposes. A mobile telecommunications company charges the fees of telephone calls for the private and business purposes separately from each other, resulting in an increase in convenience to the user. Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
